This is precisely why I got so into the Project Mothra build, and why I got my Roadster in the first place. The car business is changing. The Z is a dying breed. We should enjoy these things while we can. Cue "Red Barchetta" by Rush...
From the Project Mothra site: There will be a day when the growl of a finely tuned exhaust note isn't heard on American roads anymore. When cars become appliances. When getting from A to B is more important than hearing an engine scream. Or tires straining against physics to hold a line. Or wind being sliced and recoiling in protest. That day is not today. Mothra may be our last stand; the last hope for anyone who remembers what it's like to drive for the shear thrill of it. She will be a screaming adversary to the ordinary, relentlessly defending our right to carve up a little asphalt in the name of horsepower, handling and having fun. Strap in, America Your roads and tracks are about to become battlegrounds. |
One thing that's bad about the japanese sports car market in america. They like to tease us with great, but not there perfect examples of there autos. Let's keep it real. Japan never gives us the best versions of there sports cars. And when they do. They give us a heavier not as great version. they are as fickle with us as we are with them. They might do a 240sx? If its the same plan they were working on in 07-08. It won't do as well as other competitors coming out. A mazda rx7, toyota ft-86(along eith subie version) and mitsubishi is working on another awd 290hp eclipse that might possibly come out for 2012.(still not much word on that car. Its on the hush)
The Z has not been the kind of car to be in the middle of a line up of similar cars. When they pulled in the 90's. The 3000gt, eclipse awd, supra, rx7, and corvette were all in the game. Nissan jumped out and cancelled there cars. I'm not saying they can't compete with those cars cuz they can. But it seems like, when the Z is in a very competitive american market. Nissan pulls out. Are the japanese are still angry over WW2? Or is it renault(france) is still mad about freedom fries??? Lol. Either way... let by gones be by gones and stay in the game. 400z baby. |

Leave Ghost alone, he green-lighted the 350Z in the first place, and he knows his marketing. We'd all be driving Mustangs and used Caymans if not for Ghost.

If they kill it, I'll be happy to say I owned a 370... And go back to driving Mustangs
|
Plan to keep my 370Z, so HOORAY ME if they do kill it; there will be that many less on the road; and you must admit, the what a great car to go out on!
That said, bring on the 240!! Or new RX7... that is what I would eye for my next toy... |
