I love the factory nav that came with my 40th, even if I don't use Nav that much, the Z Nav is actually way better than my wife's BMW version and I like the USB interface and car info and stats you can pull from the Nav system

Nav's available for all other colors, so why would the price with tariffs be higher than other colors of Z when compared to the 40th anniv edition back in 2010 when you could still buy one new? It had the same list price for similarly equipped Z's didn't it?

no - it didn't have the same price as similarly equipped Zs in the states.. the sticker on a 40th was 39,995 (that's what my sticker indicated.) A non 40th - TOURING model was up to 4k cheaper, and a base w/ sport pkg was just over 32k. The Nismo was similarly priced to the 40th... and the Roadster was around 41, almost 43 with Nav... Nissan has attempted to keep the Z affordable while improving it across the years - hoping to make it the standard 'everyman' sports car...

What was the sticker price of a 40th with Nav from Canada?

$48999 (or something like that), which was the same price as a similarly equipped touring sport model with nav in any other colour.

All 40ths in Canada come with nav...yup, we get shafted on pricing compared to our US brothers and sisters.

Yup, you do get shafted up there, judging from the prices - but you DO get NAV in return...

Apparently Navigation is a 10k up there... that being the only difference. I don't think Nissan ever expected us to be comparing product information.

To the guy who asked if it would be cost effective to bring a 40th down from Canada to get the Nav set up... Well, with this information now available, I leave it to you to answer your own question.

But that's in Canadian Dollars right? I'm not sure what the exchange rate was at the time Nissan set pricing for the 2010 models, but at one point a year or two ago it was around 1.2 Canadian to 1.0 US dollars. Thus, a $40,000 car in U.S. dollars (USD) would equate to a 48,000 CAD (Canadian Dollar) car. Today, it's about 1.05 CAD to 1.00 USD.

Exchange rate was about the same last year.

OK. So in looking up historical exchange rates (Historic Exchange Rates - x-rates), on July 1, 2009 the Canadian Dollar was 1.15096 for every 1 US Dollar. Not saying that's the exact date that Nissan established pricing for 2010 models, but if you take a $40,000 car in the US and multiply by 1.15096, you get a 46,038.40 car in Canada. So, if the 40th Anniversary Z cost 48,999 in Canada, then Nissan were in effect charging 2960.60 Canadian dollars for the NAV system, which was $2572.29 US Dollars.

I know this one for a fact because I almost bought a 40th ann. While they were being built. If you were willing to pay for extra features? They would have done it for extra cost. I inquired about a 40th manumatic and they said they would special order it for an extra fee. So all options were still possible with a markup.

I agree the Z navigation and technology is amazing compared to that of other car brands. Its interface is great. I love it and it complements the interior of the Z extremely well. One reason why I didn't get the 40th sitting on the dealer lot.. no navi

Agree - it looks good, I would have opted for it, if it were available *cough, cough*.

But playing with an Alpine INA-W910 at a local BB on the way home, I think I know what I'm upgrading to...
