Mystery Question

The wife found a 2 1/4" X 2 1/4" X 1/8" thick square of rubber with a sticky back on it in the garage after I pulled out my roadster. I've looked under the car and did not see anything obvious. I also looked under the hood and lifted the roadster top half off to see if there was a matching black square.

Does anyone have any idea as to where the black square of rubber is from? Has anyone seen anything similar on their cars?

Pics would help so we can see what it looks like, and what to compare it to shape/material/pattern wise...

Ditto

Same thing here, I believe it is simply an assembly pad for the chassis as it moves through production. It has a weak adhesive on one side.

Its a diickfore

kenchan 04-09-2010 06:48 PM

could be a support that goes inside the bumper. i know my car has a few foam blocks with weak adhesives that i had to re-attach after doing the rear camera install.

vipor 04-09-2010 06:53 PM

rubber, not foam.

might just be a contact "pad" as stated before so the assembly robots don't scratch the metal

Hmmm ... Don't you think if it was his spindlacter, then his spirosphincter would be acting up? I think it is more likely that his Verbigerater came loose :eek2: ... It might be covered by the warranty ...

If you find one weird thing, just scratch your head and move on. If you find two scratch your head again followed with a "WTF" . Thats all I can do.

SoCal 370Z 04-10-2010 05:03 PM

Here is the mystery piece. Kenchan is this the same one you are referencing too? Thanks.

kenchan 04-10-2010 05:16 PM

no, mine was like a block. that looks more in-line with packaging material the others were talking about.

i wouldn't worry too much.

MightyBobo 04-10-2010 09:34 PM

Looks to me like excess material during construction. Dont sweat it, it sure isnt anything important.
