370Z Speed lock

Hello,

My car was imported from Japan, and I learned from the dealer that it is speed locked at 180km/h. The dial also has the mark only at 180km.

I need to know how to unlocked the speed limit. Please advise. Thanks for all replies.

You may want to check the speed rating on your tires first.

"Police cars here are only factory tuned. If you can do better than 180km they can't catch you, so they don't even try."

umm, i dont think so. During my student time in the USA, I went thru Connecticut heading to NY with my RX-7. A black mustang just stopped me, and he was a trooper.

Aside from all this f&f ramble, most JDM cars indeed only have speedos that limit to 180km/h per:
Quote:

However, the speed limit of 180 or 190 km/h remains in effect, depending on the make and model of vehicle. Many JDM sports cars have speedometers that only go up to 180 km/h, even though the car would be capable of much higher speeds if not for the built-in limiter. Some cars, such as the Nissan GT-R, detect via GPS whether the car is on a Japanese race track. If so, the speed limiter is disabled.[3]

Since this dude is from Thailand, cut him a break his car probably can only really go to 180km/h. He has a legit question
