I hope you guys realize there are limits to all this technology. VDC won't magically save your Z from flying off the road when you enter a turn at 80 mph after a second or so of reading the warning sign to slow to 30 mph for the upcoming turn. The way some of you are praising VDC is scary. I have no doubt that someone will eventually try to blame Nissan on their poor driving skills or false sense of security by saying the VDC failed to function as advertised after writing off their car in a turn. Air bags. Like VDC, won't save your soul when you're over doing it and decelerate from 100 - 0 in a fraction of a second. Leave the ABS alone. That's just stupid to disable it. Parking assist. If you need it to parallel park, you shouldn't have a driver's license. All this technology is slowly taking away some fundamental driving skills.
jpkirk, Motionmagic and Jordis like this.

I turn it off every time I drive it, even in rain. I just don't see a need for it. I'm not pushing the car hard enough on the street where I'm going to get myself into trouble, and even if I do this car is predictable enough that it's not going to be an issue. Just make sure you are opening up the steering wheel as you are feeding in the throttle and all is good .

Nothing like riding with my cousin in his E63 AMG and he's tapping away on his blackberry. The damn car brakes when the person in front slows down; turns you BACK into your lane when you drift out; and parks itself. And I must say, that car has some F-in GRUNT!

I'm not sure. I know he traded in his 08 911 Turbo AWD which was 116k for it. And he took a big hit on the trade-in. But, he's well off enough that the hit doesn't really matter to him anyways. I loved the 911 but he needed something more practical...LOL

Thats how you know you have too much money right there...

Personally I can't wait to see how the car does with the VDC totally turned off. While I am fixed my exhaust leak tomorrow I plan on pulling apart the center console and unplugging the module.

I couldn't find anything in the USA site, I found this in the Aussie Nissan site.

Unless you are into competitive drifting you aren't going to notice a difference.

most accidents happen from kids driving to fast. VDC on or off cant makeup for people driving beyond their or the car's limits.

And in honor of all those posts we've seen about people crashing after turning off their VDC, I made this (meant in good fun):
