Face it the new stang will be faster stock for stock as it is a newer year. A year later someone else will be faster. Its a cycle we have our turn now and will get ours again in a few years.

While it's only natural to feel a little forlorn at the prospect of being one-upped by the Mustang, I think it's beneficial to keep the big picture in mind. What drives Nissan -- or any car company for that matter -- to improve their product is competition. They're not improving their cars with each successive generation just because they're bored or because they're feeling altruistic. They're doing it to compete. Competition drives progress and innovation.

On a side note, this is why I'm reluctant to sink the coin into going F.I. As much fun as I'm having with modding my current Z, I know that sooner or later the next best thing is going to come out, at which point my current car is going to get kicked to the curb because I'll view it as obsolete. That's just me; it's how my mind works. I used to deny it and tell myself that I'd keep my car forever in order to justify the expense of modding it. But I know better. For better or worse, I have an 'out with the old and in with the new' mentality. So now I try to exercise moderation when it comes to how much I spend on modding.
