M/T testing of the 2011 stang GT
didnt see a post of it. here are the first legitmate tests of the new stang GT.
looks like Ford underated the output. in the end it ran 12.8@110mph. only needed 105 ft to stop from 60-105. and had maximum lateral G accel of .95g so there def going to be quicker. and seem to handle very well even for being around 3700ish lbs. i still dont like the look of them. i also know FORD lt the SVT division engineer alot on this car so it will be interesting to see if small bolt on mods like exaust and intake really do anything for the car. i do know once thing. these cars are going to be nasty once FI comes into the equation. but i still wouldnt want one over my Z ^^ everyone and there mother will have one. and there just not nearly as Sexy. but ill get it to Ford. they finally did it right with the mustang. |

MotorTrend has a new comparison on its website.
2011 GT vs 2010 SS vs 2010 SRT8. The Mustang did a 4.4 0-60 and a 12.7 at 111mph 1/4 mile, and .97g on the skidpad. |

i think it's funny they had to put the 5.0 back in it and give it an extra 100HP to get those times.

You didn't see a post on this because you didn't look in the right section. There's an 'Other Vehicles' section to this forum. And here's the thread in the correct section: http://www.the370z.com/other-vehicle...ang-5-0-a.html

I love my Z. If someone handed me the keys of a Camaro or Mustang, I'd sell either over my Z.
However, if things don't change much by 2011, the Z will easily be left out of the comparisond being made in our price range. You can throw out the "omg its fast, but I'll be faster in the corners!" argument all you want, the Z is not going to be the better car overall. Again, big fan of my Z...but consumers need some reasons to buy Nissan, and as of 2011 it won't be handling, power, speed, comfort, or spaciousness.

hummm... the 4 seating family grocery getter wins again? so sad.
where have all the "car guys" gone that work hard to buy 2 seaters? all these convenience packaged sporty cars are so un-carguy like. they're like my dd cars...family and convenience oriented... but it can drive sorta fun too. |

Also, those sub 13 times were all done with 3.73 gears and other options. Now it is an option from factory to get better gears now, but it makes the price jump up more.

The Z pulls higher G's in the skidpad and out slaloms the mustang. It will get destroyed in the straights though.
