LOL...... Yeah, so can I, but after 45 years of Rev matching downshifts, I find the SRM awesome.....YOU can ignore the technology here, whine about the electronic nannies, Yada yada, but in the end it is an excellent system that can make you a better driver..(but that's really up to you, isn't it??)......

A friend of mine who drives/tracks a GT40, CR6 track modified Vette and a fully modified/built 911 drove my 370Z on the track (me in the passenger seat) and he tells me the SRM is the best invention since the wheel.
I never turn it off because it is so much fun to drive.

I considered getting a base model and doing everything myself too - with the Sports Package you get the following:
Nissan Sports Brakes SynchroRev Match Viscous limited-slip rear differential 19" Rays Bridgestone Potenza tires Front chin aero deflector (I can't even see this thing in pictures) Body-color rear spoiler Just comes down to how much do you really want to deal with adding/updating each of those versus just paying the $3k. Looking at that list, the only thing I might never replace would be the LSD and of course the SRM. Good luck with your decision. |

I will go try it out see how it is with and without. The 3k is well worth it hands down. I got my 350 for 27 otd. an 08 in sept of 08. I don't think it will be the same with the 370 + sport pack lol. Maybe for a base.. thanx every1 for ur input. I'm leaning more on the sport than before

if you're getting the Z , the sport is the best value for a package, 3k for Rims, big brakes...enough said. I rarely take off the SRM unless i'm showing someone what it does or feel like making sure I can still drive without it .

I used to have it off all the time when i first got the car. But once I tried it out, it is both addictive and fun to use. Now I can't imagine having a car without it. You won't regret it.

I think it's one of the most special feature of the 370Z. I showed it to my S2000 friends and they were like
I think I've only turned it off once or twice just to see the difference, I love slowing down to a traffic light and downshifting, perfect rev match and no drivetrain buckle. It's amazing. |

this car will be forever remembered as the first car w/ "that awesome rev matching feature"... do you want to be one of the bozos who opted out of that? seriously - just drive w/ it on... and convince yourself already....

Is it just me, or is the SRM not perfect? It seems that whenever I use it it's not very smooth, especially when downshifting while braking. I found that I have to let the clutch out very fast to make it as smooth as possible. Most of the time I am smoother doing heal toe myself. With that being said, I still use it most of the time. Sometimes I turn it off just to do something different I guess.

It's a great feature, no doubt. That said, I will probably avoid using it for the sole reason of keeping my driving skills in line.
I am sure if I rely on this all the time, I will start to completely suck at driving other manual cars. Can you imagine accidently relasing the clutch like that in a car without SRM during spirited driving? I assure you it will be a VERY embarassing (and potentially dangerous) experience. |

It has been on since day one, once you get used to it you don't even notice it.

Never have issues with it over doing its rev matching, are you making sure you are not trying to "help" it because I did that at first and it screws up the whole SRM system.
It takes a bit of getting use to, but if you let SRM have its bit of control it makes a world of difference.
