Fob question

Hey,

When my car is locked and I push unlock and hold the buttom down my windows roll down until I let go or they are fully open. My question is this...WHY?

Thanks.

so when it's a hot day you can do that remotely while your walking towards your car to start letting the hot air out. I use that function on a daily basis.

It's to let the rain in. Go with the flow.

So in case you need to make a quick Dukes of Hazzard entry through the windows.

Sounds like your keyfob is possessed. Take it to your nearest Nissan exorcist immediately.

Ohh...I see.

Thanks for the info.

In all honesty that makes sense about rolling windows down to allow the heat to escape. I just wish that it worked both ways. Hold the lock button and the windows would go up.

The issue is that I was checking out my buddies new rims and tires and my keys must have pressed against the unlock button making my windows go down. I just didn't like that.

Is this an option that can be shut off?

No option to turn it off! so be careful with the fob in your pocket close to the car, for Safety Reasons they don't roll up.

That feature is just one of those things car companies copy off of each other. As far as I know, VW's and Audi's were the first to implement that feature. It's a Euro thing, Just like the wipers for headlights, side marker turn signals and HID headlights.

Nissan has been doing it for a while too. My friend's 1998 Maxima with factory keyless entry does it as well. I think the sunroof opens too.
