Just bought my Z yesterday so if you guys wouldn't mind going ahead and putting this thing out before I buy an intake in the next few months that would be great.
K? Thanks. |

The key for me is CARB legal status. I think I can live with ~375 whp (~450 chp) when I know I'll have a CARB # and never have to worry about smog. I'll save the crazy power for my pre-1976 cars where I don't have to worry about smog checks...

If you want "big power" you "HAVE" to go turbo, preferably ONE VERY LARGE compressor... "Normal" driveability/reliability ALWAYS requires compromises in power.

It's an expensive process, but one we go through for you the consumer, to have an extremely reliable, CARB legal forced induction system.. one that has allowed us to go so far as to be able to offer an engine warranty for the extra comfort factor, as the mfg engine warranty would be easy to point fingers at.. |

These are the kinds of things that are really worth paying for. Who wants a 1 or 2 year old 30,000 dollar car that feels like a poorly constructed kit vehicle? |

Does a stage 2 setup with about 375whp (est of course) assume a stock exhaust? What if someone were to then get an aftermarket exhaust. Do superchargers respond to larger exhausts as well as turbos? Would this bump power appreciably? What implications are there for the warranty?

You can safely assume that any supercharger dyno we perform here is done using a car that has been equipped with an exhaust system. Supercharger's definitely see benefits of opening up the exhaust similar to a turbo however you don't want to use too big of a pipe. On a turbo car you generally see exhaust piping around 3" diameter. This is a little too big on a supercharged application.
For example, we do not recommend running headers on our current supercharger configuration because the decreased backpressure causes the supercharger to drop one pound of boost. |
