Well if you want to go the Craftsman route (Ive never had issues with them...), they have plenty of sets for you to buy, of all sizes and compositions. Or, you can just build your set as you buy them. That can be pricey though...

When getting tools,just 1 word,never get any Chinese made,go for U.S.,European or Japanese,you will never go wrong.

I think a lot of people here missed the part where the OP said he didn't need a FANCY set. People are recommending Snap-On, SK ect. All expensive professional stuff where a full set can cost in the thousands.

Stick with craftsmans, even a hundred bucks can get you a nice starter set that should last you a very long time and you can pretty much take your whole car apart with.

Agreed. Buy Craftsman. It's the best price for a lifetime warranty.
