You are lucky. I have gone through 3 of their top of the line. They spell LEAK.

So is there a beginner set or do I pick and choose my own wrench and sockets and tool box? Thanks for all the great info...

Well if you want to go the Craftsman route (Ive never had issues with them...), they have plenty of sets for you to buy, of all sizes and compositions. Or, you can just build your set as you buy them. That can be pricey though...

I think a lot of people here missed the part where the OP said he didn't need a FANCY set. People are recommending Snap-On, SK ect. All expensive professional stuff where a full set can cost in the thousands.

Stick with craftsmans, even a hundred bucks can get you a nice starter set that should last you a very long time and you can pretty much take your whole car apart with.

Agreed. Buy Craftsman. It's the best price for a lifetime warranty.

I highly recommend the craftsman socket and wrench set. If you only own non-American cars make sure you just buy the 'all metric only set.". That should give you 100% ROI.

Even american cars are all metric now.
