Water-spots won't come off?
Hey guys, my 370z is currently getting detailed. The detailer just called me and said the whole car came out great, but there are some water-spots on the roof that just won't come out. He said that they thought they got them initially as they disappeared when they brought the car out into the sun, but when they pulled the car back intot the garage they "re-appeared". They are currently trying to figure out a way to remove them.
Has this happened to anyone else/does anyone know what can be done to remove them? Thanks |

hmmm. Very strange. Water spots are usually caused by water evaporation leaving suspended particles in the water on the car. They are typically easily removed with a damp cloth and a buff. I have no idea why they wouldn't come out ....

Try, Goo Gone! Do/use it inside the garage! But, make sure you re-wax the areas you use it on!

I can send you a small bottle of Demin Water. I work at a High Efficient reverse osmosis plant in ca. We basically super clean water so the power plant can use it on their steam turbines. Demin h2o is the cleanest purest water on the planet. It has no hardness no minerals and no forms of metals, silica, nitrates. A small amount on a cloth will easily bring up any water spots on your car. I have to tell you that you will need to immediately wax the area afterwards. If left untreated it can actually remove the minerals out of your paint and metal. Second dont drink this. It will pull minerals and nutrients out of your body, and give you the runs. This works awesome on car mirrors and windows also.

Tell your detailer to douce white vinegar onto a towel and set it on the water spots for a good 10-15min. Keep applying distilled water in a spray bottle onto the towel keep it wet.
Your welcome. |

Just got my car back, he managed to get all of the water spots, outside of a few on the hood. Quick question though - there were a few superficial scratches that on first glance, appeared to be gone, bu when I got it home, I noticed they were still there only at certain angles. I also can't feel them with my fingernail. Any reason why I can still see them?

Have you noticed bird poop on the roof? It could have eaten away the clear coat..and maybe the detailers thought they were water spots?!! Just taking a guess here since previous bird poop has eaten away some of the clear coat on my Z

It also could be "acid rain" spots. I had a car that had that problem, those spots could not be removed back then. This usually happens if you live near an area where are industrial plants.
