why so long on new 2010 z

I got mine last month after a lot of searching. It was one of two east of the Mississippi. I had a friend at Nissan corporate look into what was going on with availability and he was told they were ONLY making 40th anniversary models for a set period of time.

I actually just went into a dealership today to see about ordering and the guy couldnt tell me whether it was possible to order a 2010 (at least not a Blue base with the Sport Package) and may have to be a 2011. I thought it was really strange, but if the cutoff last year was a few weeks before mid-may, than this makes sense. They asked me to call them tomorrow because they were going to check on pricing information. Either way, the guy said ordering was going to be a long wait - oddly, he didnt push me into buying anything even slightly different than my request, so that was nice.


They tried to locate one for me, but it was pretty far away - I'm in the midwest, so I thought it was wierd how few 2010 blue base w/ sport there were available

I was reading in a Nissan mag that Japanese vehicles exports dropped 46% the lowest since 1975. Also the volatility of the yen against the dollar and other currency is not helping.

So that might a reason for the delay for the 2010 models.
