Nismo S-Tune

Recently had some interest in the Nismo S-Tune parts so I did a bit of searching around and found some cool stuff that I didn't catch before. Also found better pictures of their parts online.

Here's some links for you guys to check out:

Notes:
-Found out that the oil cap is ratcheting to prevent over tightening; I thought that was a pretty cool idea!
-Body brace set looks pretty cool. I believe the red and black one is the trunk bar.

Nice! The Nismo wheels look better in those pictures than any I have seen to date, especially the rears. Too bad they aren't as wide and the 370Z Nismo wheels (or my Volks for that matter) though.

I like the look a lot... just not the giant wing/door step looking extrusions on the front and rear lips. That is the breaking point for me.

I always wondered what is the nismo S-tune is it just a body kit from nismo for none nismo 370s or something

Yes, is for non-Nismo which includes what you see in the initial thread pics.

Vegitto-kun 04-05-2010 08:40 PM

so its basically impossible for non nismo cars to actually get the nismo body kit?

6spd 04-05-2010 09:03 PM

sure, you can get the nismo kit, if you have the money and the will, anything is possible.

Alexshen1 04-05-2010 09:07 PM

lol the prices are doubled or sometimes even more compare to other places.

All of their products are sorely overpriced...

does that red/black trunk brace replace the OEM aluminum bar? Any pics of that installed?

The Nismo kit is available from Nissan directly but very expensive. I recently looked into the cost of the wing and MSRP was somewhere around $3k. It adds up easily, especially since it's not sold as a kit. Every nut, bolt, clip, etc needs to be purchased individually.

This S-Tune kit came out in Japan before the Nismo version I believe.

Looked all over the net and couldn't find any details about it. Even looked at some diagrams of the Z34 and couldn't figure it out. Maybe someone can chime in.

The S-tune kit did release prior to the Nismo factory release.

The red and black bar goes inside the interior trim and does not replace the "OEM aluminum bar".

when you consider that these s-tune parts are prepainted, the price is actually fairly reasonable.

:iagree: I was looking at the side skirts recently and with my Z club discount they aren't too bad. And you don't have to wait to get them painted.

Ya, it saves the pain of having to paint the kit. Also Nismo is good quality stuff so it's basically just a "buy & bolt-on" kind of thing.

lol, not really, take a look at Z1motorsports or just anyother places.
Z1motorsports got cheap stuff but their customer service is something that I cant promote.

Humm, that's too big of a price difference. Maybe I'm overlooking something here. We're basing this off of getting them directly from Japan. I'll look into it and get back.

The 3-piece chassis brace was mentioned several months back and someone even did a partial DYI on install. Surprised there hasn't been more info about this. I've been interested in getting this myself but so far the cheapest I've been able to find it is 950. 370ztune has it for 1600, a couple other sites I've never heard of that are non-z specific have it for about 1000-1200. Found it for 950 on another non-Z specific site. I think I remember back when the brace was first announced someone was selling them for 500 but I can't find the old post about it.

huh? I've ordered both the side skirts and rear valence from them recently, didn't have any issues with them.. and they seemed like decent guys in my communications with them.

That's because you didnt have any problem with the products. I ordered a rear spoiler s tuned from them, and I had some major issues with them. If you take a look at the discription now on the page,

Please note: 370Z models without the Aero Package's Rear Deck Spoiler will require holes to be drilled in the rear hatch. 370Z models fitted with the Aero Package's Rear Deck Spoiler will require existing holes to be filled and new holes to be drilled

Back then when I bought the spoiler, the discription says there will be no extra drilling if I had the spoiler that came with sport package. So I thought, dang that's a real ez thing to do myself then. I tried to install the spoiler myself at first, but there isn't anything that tells me how to take off the old one, which I ended up tearing the old one apart(I actually don't blame them on this part). Here comes the gey part, after I tried the fitting with the new spoiler, ONLY 4 bolts that fits the existing holes AND 4 extra holes were EXPOSED. I mean come on, if I knew that in the first place I wouldn't even have purchased it since it's such a pain. I ended up taking it to the shop and had the guys patch the holes, paint the whole trunk deck and install the spoiler, luckily it only costed me $350, which was dirt cheap. Then I reported my problem to Z1 people, they replied to me in words such as " we have sold many of them and they had no problem ". I then realize they probably don't even know what I was talking about, so I shot them another email with pictures that shows the 4 extra exposed holes. Then they replied to me," Oh I see what you talking about now, we will try to test ours tomorrow." I mean WTF? They sell stuff that they don't even test out themselves? Then later then comfirmed my problem was legit and did nothing about it later other then changing the description on the page. Does that mean I was meant to be the someone that fell for it? I spent all the effort and money just to tell them what problems they have and not getting anything back from them. I emailed them later saying that they need to make this up or do something, they simply just ignored my email.

They're things are cheap, but I would never buy from them again, it seems like they just don't undersant how cumstomer service works.
