Default Z auto without sports?

Hi, I am considering a new Z in automatic and have been looking around.

If they sell 10 Zs how many are in BASE without sports? If I am going to go aftermarket for wheel/rims, spoilers, brakes (year from now), should I just get the base? (here in canada base comes with LSD, leather seats, revmatch in auto).

It seems like people in the states are concerned about going with base because of the absence of LSD (isn't a problem here).

Also, the sports package here is another $4,000 CDN.

What do you guys think?

If you're definitely going to go aftermarket on all those parts then there is nothing wrong with the non-sport IMO. Does the Canadian 370z have the 19 inch rims in the sports package?

One of the reasons to get sport package is SRM, but all automatics for the 370z have a similar system built into it. You already get the LSD, and the other features you plan on upgrading so why "waste" the extra money.

Seem by your needs it is already determined you should not get it.

You almost have the US Sport Pkg edition so why waste the money like stated already!

Yes, the wheels/rims are identical to how US models go.

Yokohama and 18inch for base
Potenza and 19inch rays for sports

Could you explain what the SRM feature is? As for the auto, when I test drove it, the downshifting was a pleasure. The rev match worked perfectly and didn't feel anything like my 328i auto or other auto cars I have driven.

SRM = Syncro rev matching, the 370z is the first manual transmission to do this. Think of how the auto works when you downshift it ups the rev for you to create a smoother shift change. Well Nissan has done this with manual transmissions.

Out of Car & Driver:

"Nissan’s SynchroRev Match (SRM) combines the tactile reward of shifting your own gears with the perfectly orchestrated downshifts of an automated manual or an automatic.

In most cars with a manual transmission, a smooth downshift requires a blip of the throttle to match the engine rpm with the speed of the lower gear. And shifting during braking requires the one-foot, two-pedal technique known as heel-and-toeing; your right foot blips the throttle while at the same time pushing the brake pedal. It can be harder to get right than health-care reform. But Nissan’s system, part of the Sport package on manual-transmission 370Zs and standard on the NISMO version, takes care of the rev matching for you."

I think they actually make more base/auto w/o SP. And as others stated, if you plan on upgrading, there really isnt a point in buying the SP, while I agree, you get alot for 3k, I knew that i'd be replacing the wheels/lsd/brakes ASAP, the SRM is pointless to me, if you cant throttle blip downshift, then you have no business in a MT car. I wouldnt doubt that there are probably some 09' Base Auto's out there for WELL below invoice, why not check into them?

I am looking at the Canadian Nissan specs sheet and can people confirm these?

It says that without sports package and nav, I still get bluetooth handsfree calling, and viscous limited slip rear differential?

Well, the major concern is the standard feature of Limited slip differential. The us site says, you only get it with the sports package.

Sounds like your not going to get a good deal being in Canada, less availibility. Is there anything other than taxes and registering if you bought one in the northern US?

SRM is standard on auto transmissions, you don't needed to get the sport package for it...Unless that's another wacky thing that only happens in Canada.
