Any Dyno 7AT trans vs the 6MT?

I am leaning towards getting a 7AT car, but would like to see dyno numbers for an automatic car for comparison. Anyone dyno one yet? If so does it put less power to the wheels than the 6MT? I'm expecting it will, just a matter of how much less...

probably no more than 10-12 hp.. but im no expert.. if your so concerned about WHP you should be in a 6MT... :driving:

Well, what are you really concerned about? Speed or whp? Does WHP matter that much too you is the 7AT is just as quick if not quicker than the MT?

Or are you looking to track the car at all?? Or, are you considering WHP for bragging rights?

Depends on your goal. The 7ATs, regardless of the WHP will every bit as quick at the MTs, just not quite as 'fun' to drive. That said, I am probally going 7AT.

This gets asked alot I see. IMHO I think most people are asking so that somebody doesnt say why you get a sports car with a automatic (maybe same people that ask you that don't have the internet either) I think you will be great with either choice, but just not as fun but definitely more practical in traffic :tiphat:

Sooner or later the numbers will come out and I am sure 1 will be better then the other but by not enough for anyone to really really care. It just be bragging rights.

I'm not a dyno queen/bragging rights kind of guy, otherwise my only choice would be the 6MT, this is more of a curiousity question than anything else. Just by gearing and weight specs you can guess the 7AT will be quicker than the 6MT up to about 110 to 120mph. After that the 6mt should be quicker with a better final drive up top and more rwhp.

However if the 7AT is not that far behind in HP at the wheels, it would be a nice bonus and kudos to Nissan engineers. I am sure I am not the only one who wants to know this.

Even with 10 whp difference i don't think it will make much difference in accelaration #s. 7AT will be as quick as the 6MT in any case and even have a slight advantage in lower speeds.

I should be slightly less than 10HP difference. One of the big reasons that the AT were showing less HP is because the of the torque converter. This new torque converter does a 100% lockup after 15MPH so the real power loss will come from the spinning mass at that point.

I'd guess the difference will be around 7HP.

We should start an over/under pool!

I know that, I stated that already.

Again this is just for curiosity purposes. Either way I am probably getting the 7AT....

I am also very curious.

I'm in for the answer.

Has anyone test driven both auto and manual? Would love to hear a detailed review of both tranny. I've driven only the 7 speed and this darn weather isn't making things easy for another test drive. Thanks
