The BMWs feel like I am in a full suit, giving a presentation to 150 people or execs. Fun to be sure... The Z feels like me wearing clothing to play sports in, running, tennis, baseball, etc.... While both are fun, I like the sport clothes feel, fun and relaxation more as opposed to the suit feel. |

Yup. Anyone making a comment that a 370Z is soulless has no soul.

A 335 is not boring by any means.

I also crossed shopped the 335i, and although the interior is made with better materials, the layout is the poorest and the most boring of any car I'd looked at. The guy from the link was complaining about the interior materials in the 370z and then bought a car (S4) which is on par with ours in performance, but cost $20,000 more! With 20k to spend on custom interior materials I could make seats with panda bear skins stuffed with bald eagle feathers!

I did enjoy several BMW drivers chiming in and saying that they love the 370z, and even one guy, NYFellas, talking about being a member here and thinking of buying a 370! Love it! From my own experience, however, the original review did hit the mark on some points (but he missed the mark on many more points). The harshness of the VQ37, especially during early break-in, is horrendous and alarming. 5k was about my stopping point, not due to break-in, but due to my own sense of self-preservation in fear that the car would blow up.

When he started his review like this:
"I was met someone this morning" I knew immediately I didn't care what this guy said. When he went on to use the words "awkward", "low grade" and "boyish" in his first paragraph I realized I was right not to care. The guy is biased. He never cared to review the car objectively or give it a chance. He really just wrote the whole thing so he and his forum buddies would feel elite with their cars; above the common and unworthy 370Z. So I just saved myself the trouble and quit reading. If I want to read something dumb I'll get a transcript of obama speeches.

Come and talk when its a 5 or 7 series BMW. A 3 series BMW is like Carnegie Mellon University first building a reputation from its Master's in Electrical and Computer Engineering course, which is hard to get into, and then giving bulk admits in their newer Master's in the INI program which is a spin off, a marketing stunt. A 3 series is also marketing and reaching out to the average masses after building a brand name from something upscale like the 7 series. Its all marketing. I never bother looking beyond when people compare the cheapest of something great overall (the general BMW brand) vs. the greatest of something cheap overall (the general Nissan brand).

Forum Waaaar! Yeaaaah!!! JK. I like both cars, but the OP was obviously bias, he did not go in with the intent of reviewing the Z with an open mind. He obviously loves BMW's and whatever 3 series he has. To each his own.

I've owned a 2007 335 and 2008 M3. All great cars. The rush of the 335 off the line. The rush of the M3 climbing to redline. I've owned many Nissans in the past and loved them all. Do I have a preference? No. Just depends on what I feel like having at that time. The M3 was a pain to drive in this LA traffic along with horrible gas mileage. I did get another manual but the Nismo doesn't tire me in traffic. Can't hate on either brand. Both have spent many years creating the cars we love to drive. Some people need to justify their purchases so they target other popular brands. Just need to brush them off and know that the car you have makes you happy.
