I'm a former owner of a 330 and the current owner of a 645 and the BMW's driving experience is vastly different than that of the Z. Not better, not worse, just different.

I'm a car enthusiast and I enjoy what different "personalities" each car has. I've owned many Nissan products including the 240, 300, 350, and now the 370z. The Nissan I enjoyed the most and owned the longest? A 1998 Nissan Maxima SE, 6 spd. I bought it new and loved it for years and put a zillion miles on it.

My point, don't be close minded. My BMW isn't better than my Z, it's just different.

I like driving my BMW 3 series. Our cars are more expensive and heavier so they are better. My favorite thing to do in my BMW is to fart, put the air on recirculate, so i can savor the wonderful smell of my BMW-Owning flatulence.

So how long until they find their way over here and we have to deal with their smug cloud?

BMWs are very nice cars... but i drove a 335i several times... and stock for stock the Z imo is more exciting.. The model I drove had no nav and while the craftmenship was very nice and the color combo was beautiful (black with red leather). The price he paid for the car was WAY to high for what you get. Granted a chip and some coilovers would prob change my mind some, but I wouldnt trade mine for his and keep my same payment.

To each is own though.. I will say I have gotten compliments from BMW drivers though so not all of them are haters..

I'm not trying to knock bmw's or german cars either. I just hate so much the type of people who are posting in the other thread. The "soulless" comment gets to me the most.

Besides my 370z, I drive a bmw x5, my mom drives a bmw x5, my dad drives a bmw 650i, my sister drives an audi q7 and my father also owns a 1978 porsche 911sc targa originally imported from germany. We've owned a crapload of german cars(bmw, porsche, mercedes), yet I(and my father the times he's driven my car) love the 370z.

Yup. Anyone making a comment that a 370Z is soulless has no soul.

I want to say something about that video, but first I have to stop laughing so hard, maybe tomorrow.

I'm betting your friend's 335i was manual transmission right? He was probably tuned with either DR's or slicks? 400ft lbs of torque will do that.

There are lots of 11 second steptronic 335i's running around with no problems with axles. If you want to drag race your 335i, the automatics are the ones to get.

So we are ricers because we have a loud car and we track it at the 1/4 mile track. So what does that make BMWs who track thier cars then if its suppose to be a course car? Looks like the bimmers are trying to be ricers too.

Japanese cars are "soulless" and built with 0 passion.
As others have said, the above comment got me the most, especially after seeing that intervew with our member who designed the 370z. My God, that guy personifies passion.

I did enjoy several BMW drivers chiming in and saying that they love the 370z, and even one guy, NYFellas, talking about being a member here and thinking of buying a 370! Love it!

From my own experience, however, the original review did hit the mark on some points (but he missed the mark on many more points). The harshness of the VQ37, especially during early break-in, is horrendous and alarming. 5k was about my stopping point, not due to break-in, but due to my own sense of self-preservation in fear that the car would blow up.
