When you first got your 370 did you have a Newb moment?

I'll go first...After a couple days of driving the car around, I had to fill it up with gas, of course. Being a 350Z owner previously, naturally, I looked for the button to open the gas lid by the VDC button. I searched up and down the car for it. I looked under the seat, next to the seat, even in the cubby holes in case it was purposely hidden for some reason. After a few minutes of searching the car, I walked out to the gas lid to inspect it, in case it could be opened manually by a finger. Needless to say, there was no finger hook or anything. So I hopped back in the car and began to scan the manual. I'm a man, I rarely look through manuals, but on this day I was defeated. I scanned through the pages hoping to quickly find it, then I realized "ha! I'll just use my iPhone and do a Google search". I scanned through the first couple of Google hits, to no avail. Then I scanned through the manual some more...then I got up out of the car and looked at the lid again...and for reasons I couldn't explain I had the sudden urge to push down on it, and Viola! it opened!

LOL luckily I had a G35C before wich worked the same as the 370. I could see how it could happen if you always had a release lever.

Oh boy, I have many!!

I learned to drive manual a week before I bought my 370z, so I have had moments where I come to a stop at a red light and forget to push the clutch! The car doesn't like that!

i thought the "Fobgina" on the left of the steering column for when your remote battery dies was for quarters/change.

LOL. So did you perchance shove any change into the fobgina? I once saw a pretty bizarre video involving change being shot out of another type of gina. But that's a different topic for a different day.

I too got stumped by the fuel door, btw. And I also came from a 350Z. I kept reading the manual and in the section re. the fuel door, it just describes how to unlock your doors. I was like 'what does that have to do with anything???' Then it occurred to me to try pressing it.

1. Windows automatically rolling down = read manual
2. Airbag light after DVD player install = read these forums

HAHA..the same thing happened to me (being a previous 350z owner also) I started looking around the dash couldn't find anything..a few minutes later after looking like a dork...the gas attendant said "Are your doors locked? Try unlocking them." And than there was light LOL..he pushed on the lid and it opened.

Lol, great story. I was picturing your puzzled look as you tried to figure it out. I'd never owned a Nissan so I looked through the manual the day I got it. Actually, I like to read manuals when I'm bored (aka on the toilet or whatver).
