And the 370 needs more HP to compete with the competition ?

What car for 30k gets you 333 hp and low 13 second 1/4 and more than comparable handling ??? Pontiac Solstice ? Saturn Sky ? Hyundai Genesis ? BMW 335 ? Lexus is350 ? (power is there but not for 30K closer to 50 ) Corvette ? Yes, but its a Chevy and still way more money ... Mustang GT? inferior.

You want it to compete with the cars priced 45k+ but for 30k...

We are lucky it makes the power it does ... The car is rock solid and I love everything about it..

Actually My one change would be put the VLSD in the Base, its an embarrassment to the Z to be a peg leg.. Coming from someone with a base model!!!
Actually, I priced out a 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 6MT on USAA with (HID, gears, Security, and Brembo brakes) and it's still cheaper than a 370z 6MT Sports + Touring. It will also hands down be faster than 370z on a long track.

Nissan needs to fix the oil temperature problem first.

Due to it's lighter weight, I'd say if they could squeeze 360 to 370 hp, it will match the 2011Mustang and stomp on the Camaro and Challenger in 0-60. The extra power would also probably best the Cayman S on the track. A win-win. The stock block seems to be able to take this much power with ease so the uptick shouldn't cause a huge price jump. It's easy to want twin turbos and larger blocks, but then you loose the 370Z actual biggest current benefit, it's increadable bang-for-the-buck.
Negative.

I've test driven both the 370Z and 2011 Mustang GT Coupe Premium (HID, gears, security, Brembo). The only area where the Z may have an edge is a tight track similar to an autocross. The areas where the Mustang wins out is value/pricing, braking, acceleration, mod potential/bang for the buck gains, practicality (more storage space).

Well, around here that solid rear axle just THROWS you off the road when you hit a frost-heave on a corner. The Z gives you a jolt, but stays planted. Drove 'em both back-to-back (actually last year's Mustang) and chose the Z. No contest for the brisk daily driving we do every day.

Yeah, that's the thing -- the Mustang handles -really- well on a smooth surface, but the real axle shows itself when you hit some bumpy roads. I'd imagine that sort of sours the experience for most of us who drive on good ol' American roads.

The 370Z wins on handling (better slalom and shidpad numbers), braking is so close given the differnt tests I'd have to call it even (some have the stang with better numbers, some have the Z), and better road feel. The 'stang is certainly more upgradable, but that's not comparing the two cars directly. If you give the 370Z the same power to match the 'stang's speed (about 370 to 380 hp), it's the better sports car. Don't get me wrong, I love stangs having owned 2, but if you drop the power advantage, it comes up shy of the 370Z. This is why Nissan should focus all their efforts on power in the next upgrade, they've got great numbers everywhere else.

Lug, and if you drop the weight of the Mustang to the 370Z, the numbers are more apart.

And if you added two more cyls to the 370Z it would be faster. If If if......there are always faster cars out there every couple years. Its a cycle to keep the speed freaks buying.

I want something reasonably simple, which has bugged me since day one.

A rear hatch release on the remote*, and another below VDC button.

* Who needs a panic button anyway?

I havent been in a 370z yet, but what Id like to be fixed is visibility. From what I hear, is that the blind spot just sucks.

I'm mocking him just in case you didn't know. I, for one, always find it funny when people make the argument "well, if only my car has AWD like yours, it will be faster!!"

Don't make excuses for the car. Blame it on the company who makes them so they can make cars faster than their rivals.

Add me to the list who thinks the omission of a hatch release inside the vehicle was a stupid move by Nissan. To my previous list I forgot to add: redesign the front end to get rid of the fangs.
To those who suggest a Targa top or T-tops, the extra bracing needed to keep the body from flexing is going to add weight, which everybody already bitches about. Plus the inevitable rattles and squeaks. And with the limited storage space in the hatch, you may not be happy with stowing the Targa panel or T-top panels back there and trying to carry anything extra much larger or taller than a pizza box.

I don't see why some people insist in comparing Muscle Cars to Japanese Sport Cars.

It never going to be the same. Totally different markets and enthusiasts.

Comparing orange to apples. Countless threads of the same BS over the months.
