Seriously though if they announce they are doing an orange color for 2011, I'll be picking up the first orange 2011 370z sold I'll guarantee that. If no orange or some kind've amazing color I like or other vast improvements from the 2010, i'll be picking up the 2010 in late 2010

A burnt orange color is the only thing I wish it had. I'm in love with the orange 350z and the rust-colored Mustang.

Oh well, Solid Red isn't too shabby!

6 - 4 cylinder is reserved for the 240sx which they are producing again, soon
7 - So you want to weight more?
8 - Luxury (G37)
9 - So you want it to cost 60k from Nissan?

I really do not get why so many of you want TT or SC from factory, is it because you want a Nissan warranty? Either of those options would add probably 10-20k to the price of the Z and put it in another group which is not the point of the Z heritage. It is suppose to be for a slightly better sports car at a reasonable price. It competes with certain Porsche's already for 20k less almost, it is doing its job.

I think go kart-handling is what I miss most about my previous car. The 370z feels like a boat by comparison.

The next one should be smaller. I would like that. A lot.

It wouldn't be a low 30k if you add in all of the navi and touring packages.
I'm also not basing this on engine only. V8s from Ford, Chevy, and Dodge are also allowed in this game just because they are also sports car at a lower level.

And why would the Mustang be inferior? I'll agree with the 2010's Mustang but there is no doubt in my mind that the 2011's might edge the current 370Z. Hence it is important for Nissan, imo, to upgrade to compete and better its opponents. And as for Chevy, I was actually thinking of the Camaro SS. If I can recall correctly, so far, the Camaro has beaten the 370Z (Nismo?) on all of the tracks despite it being a stereotypical straight line performance car. Competition and bragging rights usually stem from performance statistics. It would be harsh for the Camaro SS drivers to say that in a straight, they would beat us AND on the track.
What can we say about them? That our car is smaller and is more fun to drive? Sure, maybe for you, but for the general public, people want to see which car is better mostly from a performance/competition standpoint.

This tread encompasses all ranges of the 370Z including the 40k Nismo.

Why is it lucky?
+1 The 370Z eclipses the similarly priced competition in every catagory except straight line power. This is where I would add some. It doesn't have to match power for power, just match acceleration times. Due to it's lighter weight, I'd say if they could squeeze 360 to 370 hp, it will match the 2011Mustang and stomp on the Camaro and Challenger in 0-60. The extra power would also probably best the Cayman S on the track. A win-win. The stock block seems to be able to take this much power with ease so the uptick shouldn't cause a huge price jump. It's easy to want twin turbos and larger blocks, but then you loose the 370Z actual biggest current benefit, it's increadable bang-for-the-buck.

When we say "best bang for the buck" I think we need to keep in mind that this is all determined by how much money you have to begin with. A person who only makes 20K a year isnt going to call the Z the best bang for the buck. A person who makes 200K a year isnt going to call the Z the best bang for the buck. Its all perspective to your income. Those of us in here are fairly close in income thus it works for us. But best bang for the buck would be something like which car gives the most HP/ TQ/ performance/ handling/ style/ quality/ even functionality etc per dollar. And Im not sure what car that is.

The Z is a good car and in a couple of years it will up its HP just like it has always. Its a cycle all car companies play in.

Exactly.

Bang for the buck means completely different things to different people. My coworker thinks his 100 more hp and torque means the Camaro is better bang for the buck. /shrug

1.) 400 hp is very realistic and they could do it at almost no cost (i did it with different intake, exhaust and reflash, pully etc)
2.) increase cooling ability
3.) make sure sport pkg and nismo have track worthy brakes
4.) could use 30lbs of sound deading in back and lose 75lbs in front to improve weight dist.
5.) paint could be more chip resistant, I added clear bra
I love this car and it rides and handles SOOOO nice , I have 21000 miles and loving it. I feel they could make these changes for less than $500 their cost if they wanted to.

Give me a trunk for 2 sets of clubs. Or how about 1 set without taking out the Driver and 3 Wood.

Strange. I can fit mine perfectly. There's a depression on the left side of the "trunk" specifically for golf club heads. I just have to lower the bag in top first. My woods are pretty old though. They're regulation length Big Berthas. I'll have to check when I get the new clubs in.

Black
PG
cherry
PW
Mb
40th graphite.

But I love the orange color cars. Orange + black accents =

I'm thinking they might add DI at some point. I guess it would add somewhere in the range of 10-12 hp and 5-7 lb./ft. of tq. Small increase in gas mileage too.

On other car forums I browse which have cars with DI, some members complain a lot about ticking noises that sound like something is wrong with the engine. It's apparently normal.

Like I posted earlier in this thread, Nissan should've stuck the 4.5 V8 from the previous gen M45 in this Z.

Why? The Z is meant to be a V6, maybe in the future they will move over to a V8 after they feel the V6 is inadequate but the V6 is great right now.

I guess I'm just being greedy. The last 2 gen Z's were 6 cyl, so I thought there was a chance Nissan might move the Z upmarket to an 8. I agree with you that this V6 is great.
