You understandably had a complaint against the dealership, or one employee actually, and that I get.

I went to probably 4 different Nissan dealerships when shopping for my Z and ended up being very happy with the one I chose. 1 of the 4 was a guaranteed "no" in my book and I persuade people to avoid them for just that reason. At the same time, however, that same crappy dealership handled my hatch spring issue under warranty before the TSB was released when I approached them with it.

Regardless of everything though, people are people, and you will find more assholes than saints. It does suck that they consistently treated you poorly, and that the issue wasn't elevated over the person's head that you were dealing with. Damage control was lacking based off of your posts here.
Actually there is not one issue there are multiple, and Nissan has not fixed either of them.

For one the noise, Nissan has not fixed it and has no idea how to fix it. If they did then they wouldn't have agreed to buy back the car.

The back hatch not opening up is not fixed and Nissan won't fix it either, at least for me. Members on here have found fixes and bring them to Nissan yet Nissan refuses to do that fix. I don't know about you but when I go to the cleaners and pick up my suits and in order for me to put them in the car I have to either leave the back hatch open or lay the freshly cleaned suits on the grand so I can use both hands to open the back hatch is a joke.

Most people are really happy with dealerships when they buy their car, that's their job. But once they get that sale most are done helping you and in my case wanted nothing to do with me or even try to help me. When I went to other dealers they were rude. I kept telling them it was a high pitch noise and they would still only send out the maintenance manager who was 60 years old and talked the entire them and wouldn't shut up long enough to listen for it. Or the dealer manager who opened the door and sat in the car for 10 seconds and then got out. I told him it doesn't make the noise unless your driving and he said he didn't have time to go for a ride. Or how about the dealership who told my wife she knows nothing about cars and that is a normal noise all cars make and to send her husband in so they could explain it.

All this happened at 3 local dealers, so please tell me WHY I should buy another Nissan?

I'll expand on my previous point.

Subaru initially gave customers a lot of issues on 08-09 WRX/STi motors. The 3rd or 4th piston was giving out and completely losing pressure. They refused to take back many cars even after replacing the engine 2 or 3 times.

When the Evo X came out there was an ECU problem (I think it was ECU?) that was causing engines to go. Same thing. Took them quite a bit to acknowledge the problem and I don't think they offered buybacks either.

GM has had multiple issues with the tranny in the Camaro -- and they've refused to do much about it other than say it is an issue and that it only happens with "high performance" driving anyway -- so why fix it?

Not to mention idling issues in the CTS.

Let's not forget Toyota -- I really don't even have to say anything here.

I know there are a lot of manufacturers that I missed but I guarantee major problems exist with them somewhere. It isn't that they are bad or anything, either. It's just that cars today are mass produced on a budget and something has to give somewhere. Even a Ferrari has mechanical and electrical issues -- in fact they are some of the worst for it.

Sometimes you run into a lemon. Other times you run into gold. It's really just what card you draw. It sucks you got a bad one, but really **** can happen everywhere.

Nissan has issues -- the Z isn't perfect. A bunch of posts here confirm that and I think there are very few true fanboys here, so I wouldn't call people blind or afraid to stop loving the car or whatever. We're just realistic, for the most part. That and we enjoy the car (usually).

In my years and my parent's years -- and friends, for that matter -- there is only one dealership I would even go to at all, period. Dealerships are dealerships for the most part.

edit2:

tl;dr -- buy what car makes you happy, regardless of what "issues" you see on the community forums or whatever. unless there is a huge recall or a glaring problem or something, but even those are fixed in time.

I understand cars have issues. I am done with Nissan because not only how corporate handled it but how every dealership around me treated me when I brought it in. Nissan knew there was a problem when I brought my car in with ~100 miles, they knew at that time there wasn't a fix. They should have just swapped out the car, but instead I was told to 'turn the radio up'. As soon as I contacted my dealer about the issue they were also of no help and would do nothing to help me.

Every company has problems, it's about how you resolve that problem with the customer. And in my case Nissan wouldn't do anything to resolve my issue.

There's a fix now, and I think a TSB.

The hatch spring part has now been revised multiple times and a TSB has been released. Many people including myself still had the dealership take care of this without said TSB.

Too little too late then. I have been dealing with it for 9 months.
