UPDATE** It's a done deal, Nissan is buying back my car

Good thing the OP didn't get a Toyota. Getting Toyota to buy back a runaway Camry would have been the least of his worries!

OP, please go away. Really, since June '09 the only thing you've ever posted is about your stupid noise. Nobody cares. Good bye. Get a goddamned Chevy.

The back hatch not opening up is not fixed and Nissan won't fix it either, at least for me. Members on here have found fixes and bring them to Nissan yet Nissan refuses to do that fix. I don't know about you but when I go to the cleaners and pick up my suits and in order for me to put them in the car I have to either leave the back hatch open or lay the freshly cleaned suits on the grand so I can use both hands to open the back hatch is a joke.

Most people are really happy with dealerships when they buy their car, that's their job. But once they get that sale most are done helping you and in my case wanted nothing to do with me or even try to help me. When I went to other dealers they were rude. I kept telling them it was a high pitch noise and they would still only send out the maintenance manager who was 60 years old and talked the entire them and wouldn't shut up long enough to listen for it. Or the dealer manager who opened the door and sat in the car for 10 seconds and then got out. I told him it doesn't make the noise unless your driving and he said he didn't have time to go for a ride. Or how about the dealership who told my wife she knows nothing about cars and that is a normal noise all cars make and to send her husband in so they could explain it.

All this happened at 3 local dealers, so please tell me WHY I should buy another Nissan?
I notice this is the business model for most business. If you have a problem and bring it to the low level guys, they will brush you off the best way they possibly can.
The only way around this issue is to keep going to some one higher. Or hope to get some one smart who wants to help.
I think no matter where you go, you will get this business model unless you meet a business with really nice people in it. Or in your case a really exceptional dealer.

LOL you are whining about the car whining? I think us humans whine louder... its a freggin sports car man... it makes noise... its bumpy... it has a loud fuel pump...so? Oh no the road noise is too much... nissan fix it! oh no my rear visibility... nissan fix it! oh no the oil gets hot when i PUSH the car... nissan? LOL... you should not run away from nissan... you should run away from owning a sports car...

I dont look at fixing / spending time w/ my car as a chore or as a pita - i look at it as a learning / bonding experience... good luck finding a car that is headache free... let us know what you find...

Update on MY high pitch noise.

Someone I knew got Nissan to buy back their car.
He walks into the dealership and the receptionist says "your back again?"
He says "Here's the keys.... You can have the car now and it's your problem now."

I do honestly sympathize for you, and your situation. Im pretty sure everyone on this forum has dealt with customer service situations, where they weren't treated fairly or where the CSR didnt rectify the problem. Im glad though, you got what you wanted, even though it came 9 months too late.

Umm... You mind posting up the VIN to your car? Just in case, somebody runs into this car with all the problems??? Assuming the dealer is going to sell it as a used car.

I dont hear the whine but I have slight hearing lose in certain freqs. Has anyone that has the noise tried to use any type of device that amplifies to sound like a tethescope or something like what the sports people use to catch the guys talking sh!t?

Instead of Nissan doing the eight thing when I brought this issue up (with under 100 miles) was to swap out the car. They refused and instead made me waste months fighting. I'm done and after all the bad experiences I had with dealers I'll never buy another Nissan again.
I can understand your feeling---Burned once, Nissan's fault, burned twice my fault. You'll agree that this can happen with any make car and, in fact, does. But you should have been treated better. I would feel as you do and, being a lawyer, I probably would not have been as patient as you were. I would have filed suit early on. I would also buy another make car. Good luck to you.

I'm sorry about your experience. Only a VERY handful of 370Z were affected by the ECU noise. If I recall correctly, Nissan is Swapping ECU for a newer one. There IS a thread somewhere on the forum but I just can't find it at the moment (too sleepy ). They are probably going to release the TSB any time now(I'll check tonight if it's out yet or no). I'll find it and add it later. Basically any ecu ends with xxxx is being replaced with the newer one. Again, very small 09 370Zs were affected. (I do not have any problem)

As for the stuck hatch, there is already a TSB. One can simply print it out and show it to the dealer and they will order the parts for you on the spot.

TSB: 2009 nissan 370z coupe; rear hatch will not open on first push of release button

I'm sorry that your experience has not been like the most of us. Please feel free to post some pictures in our "other vehicle" section once you get the new car.

Good luck.

BTW, I'm closing this thread before it goes south
