Default 530XI Versus 370z (Need opinions)

I thought I was set on a 370 until I saw this.

(NOT EXACT CAR but I would modify the 530 to look like this. 5% tints!)

Check this out

Base Model 370z RWD -
Black Color, Cloth Interior, Base everything.

vs.

2007 Cert Pre Owned 530XI AWD-
Black Color, 5% Black Tints, Aftermarket Rims, blacked out exterior, red leather seats, dvd-nav screen, 4 seats

What do you guys think based on looks? Base, stock 370z....or 530XI with dark tints, blacked out exterior, and new rims?

Man, that's up to you. To me, these are 2 totally different set ups. I like the BMW in general, but is nothing like the 370. Again, you are probably asking the wrong crowd. I say 370 all the way, but I am biased.

two different platforms dude. it really depends on what you like the most.

Honestly i hate Bangle designed BMW's look wise. I also think its a HUGE car, with two different time zones and all included. Then again i went from a corsa to a Peugeot 306 to a focus to a mini to a z..... ie small cars.

the z is more of an affordable japan-esk sports car.

based on looks only IMO the z is a thousand times better looking.
comfort the BMW has it by a mile
Drivability, depends on the road every day the bmw, once again more comfortable and well it has power so it moves. on a track the Z.

it depends also if you a badge whore or not. the nissan is great but it carries a B brand badge, BMw on the other hand carries an A brand badge. Do you care? I hope not.

you will get a lot more on the BMw as far as features go that's for sure, but you pay a higher price as well. so yeah that's about it.

In before: "this is a 370z forum what do you think we will recommend"

These cars are so completely different its almost impossible to compare. I think the BMW 5 sries is one of the best looking sedans on the road. I also think the 370z is one of the best looking coupes on the road. One is built for comfort/luxury and the other for speed/handling.

Do you want a small sporty car or a big comfortable car? Your taste in mods is certainly not up my alley though...

Man that 530x is sweet. Two different catagory of car as mentioned though. Family man vs Single man. As simple as it gets.

You can't compare them performance wise either. A 530i isn't a strong performer, you'd have to get a 550i if you want something that actually has some get up and go. Even then it's not going to handle like a 370Z would.

I'd never get a 370Z if I needed a car for practical purposes. I'm getting one because I already have a nice four door sedan and I already have a truck/suv. Some people's lifestyle doesn't warrant having a vehicle with space so a coupe works for them regardless. You need to ask yourself what you're truly looking for in the next vehicle you're considering to purchase...

Space is no concern for me. I have no problem buying a coupe. I like coupes and sedans equally.

I know that the 370 kills the BMW in terms of performance......but it just looks SO sexy that it is making me turn my head away from the Nissan. Plus the interior ***** all over the 370. =/

I personally like the 370Z interior better. I don't like the BMW interiors. It looks old and outdated. The 370Z interior is geared towards the driver. Then again, it's my own taste.

The way you're describing each car, I know you already have your mind set on the BMW. Make that decision and be at peace with it.

The 5er will be classier, more comfortable and luxurious, but the 370Z will be more fun to drive. If you want a compromise, maybe try a 3 series.

I had a 545i previously and it really is a great sporty car for it's size. I could keep up with 350Zs, M3s and porsches in the canyons without too much hassle.

How much are you looking to spend, used 550s can be had for 40K or less.

Do you really need AWD. If anything, I'd get a 535/545/550. That way you could at least keep up or be faster than a 370Z, at least in a straight line or on the highway.
