Default Mods Addons and Performance

Dear Members,

I am interested to get into doing some simple mods on my car, for about $1000 what do you guys recommend? I don't have any experience, so I am not familiar with any parts that are available. If one of you has a few minutes can you let me know of some part names, where to buy/install them? Much appreciated!

Just a note, I don't really want to change the way the car sounds, don't want to contribute to the noise pollution!

what you can do is change all ur lights to led lights. dome, license plate, and trunk is a good start. its cheap, and it can be purchased on v-leds.com. installation is very easy, all you need is a flat head to pop up the plastic, den switch out the bulbs to leds. - all this will cost around 30-40 bucks i believe... with the rest of the money, you can either tint your tail lights, or even black out the front fangs and rear valence - this is really popular among the forums. i got it done by this guy i found on craigslist... he did a very nice job on it.. check your local listings on craigslist.
or.... just get an aftermarket intake.... i have stillen g3 intakes, and i dont notice the sound difference from the stock exhaust.

I've already got the LEDs! I am also installing the Fog + Rear View Camera.

I was looking more for performance parts...

I do not but these are probably two of the easiest mods you can do yourself. Good time to learn how to turn a wrench. Probably save you $500+ as well.

Thanks, I have installed the other parts myself, but I live in an apartment and it won't be easy for me to install something like this.

Anyone has an idea where to get the Stillen G3 instakes installed?

Almost any shop can do intakes, it's not that hard and should probably be charged for 1.5-2 hours worth of work. So look to spend around 150-200 for the install.

i see a lot of threads on this. You want real performance?
Do it in this order:
HFC or Long tube headers
4.08 Gears
Exhaust
Intake

I know its not the right price range but just gears alone with install and everything your looking at 800-1k. That increases your acceleration 10%+.

Aint nothin easy about those HFC's buddy, ask anyone who has them

On another note, the G3's combined with the HFC's would probably net you the most gains for under a grand, thats the route I would go.

I most definitely would not do 4.08 gears if this car is going to be a daily driver, something about having the car at cruising speed in 6th gear and RPM's over 4.5k is just an exploding engine waiting to happen...

Come to my house I'll do it for a hundred bucks, but u gotta sign a paper that says, "If i **** your **** up, I'm not responsible"...I could really use the $100 and the practice before I do my own
