Does anyone have a perfect Z?

Hey guys, I see a lot of posts on here from people that are very protective of their Z and still get paint chips, dings, and dents. These kind of posts seem to be overwhelming sometimes. So my question is - does anyone on here have a perfect Z that actually drives it? Or is that not possible with this car?

theDreamer 03-16-2010 03:12 PM

I do not think it is possible with any car.
Road hazards, debris, natural occurrences (rain/sleet/etc.), normal wear & tear

Unless it's a garage queen!
Most sports car are meant to be driven!

Longer answer:

Threads like these kinda drive me up the wall. Its no possible to drive any car and keep it 100% pristine. You would have to keep the car in a big box with the air vacuumed out of it to do that. How do you find it even remotely plausible that someone can drive their car and not damage it in any way? I can't get this through my head, its a legitimate question.

Short answer:

Yes, my car has an invisible forcefield. Nothing can penetrate it. Not even air. I wear scuba gear when I drive.

NXTAZEE 03-16-2010 03:24 PM

I drove my previous car for over 7 years with almost no damage. It had 2 scratches and no dents. The most damage was with the front end, the paint was pitted slightly because of highway driving and soft paint. I had a 1992 Maxima for 13 years, it had very little damage as well. The Z has one rock chip on the driver door, which I'm repairing, and a small dent on the right rear fender. The dent is on the edge so it is almost impossible to see. I'm considering taking the inside panels off and having it repaired. I think it is impossible to not incur some damage on a daily driver.

LinPark 03-16-2010 03:47 PM

Mine is perfect! Because it still only exists in my mind. ;)

The other 2 I have are in fairly good shape and have only been driven online via Grand Turismo 5 Time Trial Challenge. Oddly enough, I wrecked them a few times but can't seem to find a scratch on them so I guess I was very lucky.

I don't expect my real one to stay flawless for long but I'm keeping my hopes high.

Mine lost its perfection after I farted in it. Which was just a day after I bought it. It hasn't been the same ever since. :(

zmyride 03-16-2010 04:55 PM

Until my Z can make me dinner, it's never perfect.

sdb3641 03-16-2010 04:59 PM

I do not plan on driving it in the rain. Stays in the garage with the cover on it (when Im not driving it!)

900 miles on it so far and one small rock chip in the windshield. Clear bra has been installed so hopefully none will appear on the hood.

KillerBee370 03-16-2010 05:00 PM

My cars all fugged up from the track. PERFECT!

Hugoneus 03-16-2010 06:50 PM

Mine was perfect until about a few days ago.

In our parking lot, I was going a little too fast and I scraped the bottom of the car. A tiny dent right under the car... You cant see it, but I know it is there!

wishihadnav 03-16-2010 06:58 PM

yeah def not possible if driven..got my first chip while driving it off the dealorship lot...lol

I've got a 350 from 2006 and it's perfect! Much better then a 2004.5

Impossible. Yours doesn't even have a .5 at the end.

Smallywood 03-16-2010 09:07 PM

From my experience, even cars on the lot that have yet to be purchased are not even perfect. Most cars have minor imperfections straight from the factory... Let alone after transport and sitting at the dealership for a given amount of time...

That's just because I'm blond... don't know what that means... but the Z is perfect and it's from 2006!

Talking about blonds and cars... she forgot the tire...

My Z will hit 7k on the way home tonight. Paint is still the way it came from the dealer, no dings, dents, or scratches. No clear bra, and I drive it in the rain. It sits in the garage when there's a chance of snow or ice, but its been a couple weeks since I had to drive the beater.

I'm not sure why people think this is so impossible. The crap that hits your car comes from the car in front of you. I simply change lanes or drop back farther.

I'm sure I'll wreck on the way home now... :ugh2:

Red370 03-16-2010 09:59 PM

My Roxy is perfect to me, even with her imperfections.. I tell her I love her and kiss the Z on her wheel daily... does that make me crazy?

you are correct, just about every car on a dealer's lot i can find a imperfection on. I guess it depends on what your idea of "perfect" is.

5 months old and not a scratch, dent, chip
or scuff.. Never seen rain and won't ..

Shutup LOU :)

Be careful with parking lot/structure concrete tire stops as there are two here in the States (a low version and the standard version). The standard version will graze the bottom of the front end without the Sports Package front chin spoiler; with spoiler installed...the party is over.

Vegitto-kun 03-17-2010 03:47 AM

I have about 5000 kilometers on it.

I cleaned it yesterday.

no dents, no scratches

paint is still perfect

fullmonty 03-17-2010 05:16 AM

Is it perfect? No. Is it perfect to me? Yes, with the exception of my peeling window tint

blinkme323 03-17-2010 02:20 PM

I'm starting to come to the realization that if you actually intend on driving the car, then it's not perfect. Mine may not be perfect, but it's in better condition than 99% of the cars on the road, which is pretty good.

Clear Bra is a must if you want the front end to stay looking new. I put this on all of my vehicles now. I've got an appointment to have my new Z done soon. This time i'm going to have the entire hood and fenders done so there are no visible lines. It's not cheap but your car will stay looking new and in the long run it's cheaper than repainting.

kenchan 03-17-2010 04:40 PM

mine is perfect.

perfectly aged. :p
