You would not need to downshift to 1st gear, as 2nd gear is the most suffice for maximum downshift. You're just putting unnecessary shock to the transmission if you downshift

highly recommended - don't downshift to 1st
You would not need to downshift to 1st gear, as 2nd gear is the most suffice for maximum downshift. You're just putting unnecessary shock to the transmission if you downshift to 1st, so don't do it.
