Umm... someone nailed it earlier...its just the gearing difference and the synchros having to spin up more than usual. If you match the revs (or let the SRM system do it for you) you should be able to downshift into first. Its the same with all cars, first gear is always hard to get into when you're going more than 10mph.

Its tough downshifting from 2nd to 1st @ 3k RPMs, but try it when you are between 6K-7K. I hear it goes in like butter. :ugh2:
