No need to apologize shado. And I'm not telling you not to joke or post or anything like that.

I'm just trying to understand why people -- you for instance -- care about a thread whose topic you no longer wish to discuss ... Why would you-- or anyone else -- care that a thread is repeated, likely full of passionate opinions, about to erupt into personal attacks, and, as you say, about to become -- if not already -- full of "Drama"?

In my opinion repeat threads or resurrections, or rehashing of old subject are no more annoying than a lot of threads on totally original subjects -- It's the content of a thread that is important to me not the number of times that topic has been discussed. If I'm sick of reading about a topic, I simply don't look at the thread and I can't quite understand why anyone would feel any different ...

Do you rage at all the cookie cutter formula based novels at the bookstore or the library or just ignore them? Do you stand outside of bad sequels and pass out pamphlets explaining how this latest version is just a low budget rehash of the last one?

I'm not trying to single you out, actually I don't really think you in particular are mean spirited, but some folk are and vent the frustrations of their lousy lives on some poor unsuspecting new forum member who -- heaven forbid -- didn't spend 10 minutes trying to operate an admittedly lousy search function.

Frankly I think it is those sort of folks who are thin skinned in a certain way -- they can't imagine the internet operating in a way that clashes with their preconceptions and they take it personally.

I try to be helpful to anyone here if I can answer their question, but I can also be silly or joke around.

It's just a forum guys. Try not to take it so srsly.

Hmm, I think that's the point I was trying to make. Why exactly do people take it so seriously if a thread topic is repeated? You gotta admit some people do seem to take it as a personal insult

shadoquad 08-25-2011 10:30 PM

Zag, I might ask you the same question though. Why so passionate about a few angsty posters?

If it bothers you to this extent, why not PM AK? He may take a while to get your msg, but he's very understanding.

I understand your point tho. It is a catch 22.

Boy have we derailed. Thx for the respectful back & forth. :)

Joking about it isn't bad, but I agree, I don't think folks should kirk out abt it.

lol. Yea a bit of a digression from the thread topic. Actually though, it's not like I'm really bugged too much by angry posters, just trying to get an insight into why they think every repost means *insert terrible thing that means world will soon end*

Anyway to end on topic: Why choose. Get both. 135 for daily driver and Z for weekend use.

Cheers

Uh, skip both. Buy my car, which is already here in Miami and has ton of mods. Price will be similar!

I have to agree the Z is a super looking car! I knew I had to have a Z after seeing pictures of it. I do not think the 135 is ugly, just not my cup of tea styling wise. I do not know what BMW is thinking about lately from a styling prospective? BMW could have sold a lot more of them if the styling was just a bit nicer. It really is a nice car though. It drives great. It will put a lot of smiles on your face when behind the wheel. Probably not as trouble free as a Japanese brand though. A friend has one and it does seem to have some teething issues with the mechanics? BMW has taken care of every issue when there was one and will do so for the first 4 years.

Well, BMW is just like Porsche, they want to keep the "signature" look so that not only are you buying the brand name, you immediately know just booking at the car itself that it's a BMW and not a Lexus. I mean, it's already bad by GF can't tell the difference between my Z and a Porsche in the parking lot.

From a tuning perspective, go with the 135i. Our z's top out at~325whp with full boltons and tune. That blows.
My mechanic's gf has a 135i with a tune and meth kit installed and making a little over 400whp.
If I want to beat her in a straight line then I'd have to go boost and that isn't cheap. I didn't get the z for straight line fun but More power doesn't hurt. After a few months, I started feeling like I needed more power

Stay with the Z.
