I may have you by ten years and the G does nothing for me, Id go Audi or BMW if I wanted back seats.

Not worth the extra price tag in my opinion. I've owned 2 G's...the 2003 G35 and a 2008 G37 now, both are great cars.

I will say that I do like S5's and I love the M3...but again...not going to shell out $55-60K for an M3.

its all about how much you have, if you have it you spend it. And they are very good cars. If I hadnt wanted a Z for so long, and they finally made one of good quality, Id be in an Audi still. BuT I know its all a matter of personal preference when it all comes down to it.

If number of seats wasnt the issue... and you could live with 2 - I would imagine that the less weight and more agressive handling (assuming the engine is the same ) will tip you in favor of the Z save for insurance-ish costs etc....

The G37 is the skyline in the rest of the world. So it has heritage. Basic differences lux vs sporty. It's that simple.

Except that name, Skyline, truly refers to the GT-R (R34 & prior), but today it is for the G coupe.
I picked the Z because I like two seats, and the true sports car.

Skyline is the model and GT-R is the trim for R34s and prior. In Japan when I live there for 3.5 years there were 2 doors and 4 doors base, GT, GTS, GTST, and GT-Rs. The G35 version didn't have a GT-R trim and the current GT-R is finally a separate model from the Skyline.

I agree. My wife and I were ready to buy a G37S and then we saw the 370Z. Even though I'm in my forties the Z appealed to us much more. Drove them both and still preferred the Z. If you want lux go with the G, if you want sport then it's the Z.

HAHA, I'm turning 28 this year and I second to the supporting fiancee. I test drove the G37S as I also had that same question, but until you actually sit in one and test drove one, you'd realize instantly that the G37s isn't a real sports car and it doesn't give you that fun and excitement you'd get in a Z. The looks of the Z is much better, and at my age, I don't plan to have kids so I can deal without the 2 seats in the back. As for the money I'm paying for a fully loaded I could get an Infiniti G37s...which to some people think it's better because it's like a luxury brand and you're moving up in life if you're being saw in one of those. But my honest opinion is that I don't like the looks of the G37s, it's all bubbly and the front is just plain ugly. I apologize to people who owns it as you may feel different, but that's just how i feel about that car's looks. It just doesn't look sporty at all; you sit much higher off the ground, and it doesn't handle as well. Sure infiniti has a little more amenties, but I still prefer having a Z because it's a much funner car to drive (plus it has Syncro-Rev, which the G37S does not have)

Last year I saw 2 brand new Silver fully loaded 2008 G37S that's been sitting at the dealership for almost a year old (b/c of the economy crisis) for $35K (before tax), I woulda paid less for it than my fully loaded 370z and prolly woulda gave me more of a Status symbol than what I get with a "Nissan" brand. But in the end, I knew I'd be lying to myself to what I actually like if I ended up with a G37S.

Btw, I may offend a lot of people for saying this, but I think the G37S is a nice car because of the package it comes in for such a price, but when it comes to exterior looks, the 370z wins hands down.

Well, you are in a 370z forum, so I doubt you'll offend like-minded people.

They're gorgeous cars for distinctly different audiences with different tastes. My GF doesn't like the 370z at all but likes my G.
