I posted my own a few weeks ago and I know there is a thread on this, but now I am taking my car in for shimmy and shake during braking. I can't take it anymore.
I am almost certain it has to be a warped rotor, I cant think of anything else. My question is this? Has anyone else taken their car to the dealership for this issue and did the dealer resurface the rotor or give you new ones. Also, is there anyhting else besides a warped rotor this could be that the dealer should be aware of. Thanks, and please dont post links to other threads, i have already read them. Im looking for people who are in the same dealership situation I am and if anyone found something other than warped rotors. I requested a GTR tech and a road test to show them so I can hopefully get this fixed |

Typically Rotors will fall under a wear and tear part and will not be covered under warranty, unless nissan feels it's a bad rotor.(Which I haven't seen) They may be able to turn it, but I wouldn't suggest that due to losing optimal brake performance once turned.

Have you tried re-bedding them? Rotors rarely warp these days.. Uneven braking like this is often the result of Pad transfer. It will feel just like a bad rotor. Go out and hammer the brakes a few times and see if this doesn't help. Read this for more info: StopTech : Balanced Brake Upgrades |

I painted my calipers with a friend in August. BUt today after I posted this is switched my wheel lock across form my valve stem and retorked my lugs and the problem seems to be almost gone. I am pretty happy so I cancelled my dealership appointment. Im going to give it a week or so and monitor it.
My buddy is really smart with cars and went to retork my lugs and he was yelling at me because they werent tightened properly and he said thats why your wheel shakes when you brake. So the problem seems to be fixed mostly Let me know what you guy think |
