They are taking the "safe", make money approach to automobile building. Things go in cycles. I remember after the gas crisis in 1973/74, you couldn't buy anything with any horsepower other than an exotic. Maybe when things turn around, they'll jump back in, but by then they'll be behind the curve, unless they continue R&D on the side.

LOL, I just called the local dealer and he told me "the tail lights are vented, so you'll get some condensation." I've never heard of this before, and I told him that the other one was fine. Thoughts?

Headlights are vented for heat reasons, and there are light assemblies that have breathers on them, but the condensation is not normal. Condensation will cause corrosion of any contacts in the light assembly, and it makes the interior of the light (which you can never clean) start to look tacky. I say fight this one, and receive a new light assembly. I had an issue like this on another vehicle we owned, and it resulted in complete light failure; taillights are required by the DOT, and a mandated safety feature.

I think we might have an issue with our passenger's side taillight as the entire assembly squeaks against the other body parts, and it also appears that the housing pieces of the taillight are not staying together.

Sometimes you'll see small amounts of condensation on the inside, but it should go away fairly quickly and not be a chronic problem. Almost all head and tail lamp assemblies I've seen are indeed vented. Just keep an eye on it...the good news is that it is under warranty if it's serious problem.

Eh, Nissan could definitely improve that then. A dual or tripple cone 2nd gear snycronizer would probably improve the shifting action. I remember Toyota did this with the 93 MR2 Turbo after complaints of bad shifting on the 91/92 models.

I'm going to be switching my MT fluid over to Redline later this week. I'll let you guys know if it makes any difference to the feel of the 1-2 shift.

I thought the blind spots were terrible too until I realized just how short the the car is from the driver's seat to the tail.

I totally agree. Sometimes it sounds like the car is being ripped apart by rocks and stones, which I find troubling. Even my Altima Coupe had padding in the wheel well.

My biggest complaints are:
  • No heated side view mirrors
  • Blind spot
  • plastic kick plate
  • creaking or rattling in my driver's side door
  • Rear windshield wiper would have been nice
  • Inside release lever for gas tank door

That said, I LOVE THIS CAR! I haven't once regretted buying it. I've had it just about a month and think it's great!

My thoughts when looking at your list of "biggest complaints" through the eyes of a past 350 owner.
  • No heated side view mirrors:
Was a waste of money since the car is put away for the winter in the cold weather states. I believe Nissan knew this a saved a couple of bucks and gave us power seats on both sides and some other goodies.
  • Blind spot:
If you had a 350 before you purchased the 370, you knew in advance what you were getting into. We were blind as bats in it also. We learned to position the car.
  • plastic kick plate:
Who cares?
  • creaking or rattling in my driver's side door:
Make your dealer correct it..........
  • Rear windshield wiper would have been nice:
Unless you're stopped or moving very slowly you didn't need it on the 350. Personally I never used mine on my 350. See last sentence of no heated mirrors
  • Inside release lever for gas tank door:
The inside button was a pain in the butt on the 350. 80% time it did not work and you had to keep pushing it several times until it decided to open. This new system is much better.

Are the biggest issues right now:

- incorrect lugnuts (G37 instead of 370z used by dealerships)
- Tire Pressure much too high at purchase
- Seats not securely attached (movement while driving)
- oil overheating during track driving

?

You can't be serious with that response. The car isn't intended to be driven in the winter or in the city on rainy days?
