It seems to me like the way its set up, Nissan intended for us to let it auto downshift on its own when slowing down and leave the manual downshift for when you need power for passing or misbehaving.



I use the stick for upshifting and the paddle for downshifting.

Permanent "D" user here; at 61, my "shifting" days are over. Traffic down here's a killer, anyway. Greetings.

I also would like to see what the car is doing (gear wise) when it's in the D mode, and why not. It can't be so hard to have programed it in the car from the factory now can it, over site i guess or just to damm lazzzzzzzzzzy !

how hard is it to have the m changed to D and just show the gears

I use the paddle shifters. Preparing myself for when I move up to the GTR.

It wasn't oversight, it was a deliberate design decision so you can tell if you're in auto or manual mode without looking down at the stick.

When in M mode it shows you M and the gear number, I was just wanting it to do the same in D, but when it's displays D the number part that is blank and when in M it shows you what gear you're in that's all why no gear number in both modes is all I was woundering

has anybody noticed the revs dropping down to 1000ish when you let go of the throttle.

say im in 4th at 3000revs and I let go of the throttle. it just drops down to 1000ish revs and the moment I hit the throttle again it jumps back up to 3000

this is annoying if I need to downshift because I look at the revs says its 1000 I shift but the actual was 3000 BAM 4000 RPM

Yeah I get the same, let go of the throttle and the rpm drops to a bit below 1000.

I guess it has to do with saving gas?

but it not fun when you cant see when to downshift unless you touch the throttle to see the real revs

I use both but more the stick than paddles. When I do use the paddles, usually it's when I'm driving in a straight line.
