anyone cross shopped EVO X before bought the Z?

EVO's biggest advantage is having two more doors, but i just don't trust their motor and tranny, Z has a much longer and better track records. any thoughts?

i have thought about evo before getting my z. i have to say the stock evo might be faster than the stock z because it has awd and 300 ft/lb torque. plus it has 4 doors. BUT you will get so much more compliments driving the z because everyone is going to be like "holy s--t, tat thing is sexy." also, if you are not skilled with rwd since u r driving fwd now, i suggest you to buy rwd over awd because it will be hard to drive rwd after you drove awd.

We've beat this thing dead, the Evo is not faster stock, regardless of AWD. Do they have more readily available aftermarket support? yes, how long has it been out? since 07', give the Z time, we already have 3 TT kits and 2 Supercharger kits available or soon, so basically its all down to looks, there really isnt a comparison.

Just curious, why it's harder to go from AWD to RWD? I never drove anything AWD so I can't make any comment.

because AWD vehicles are damn near impossible to break loose, lightly tapping the throttle on the Z in a turn will get you sideways.

Test drove the Evo X, honestly I'd rather get an older Evo 9 and I don't trust the aluminum block as much as the older iron blocks on the Evo's. With the Z I don't mind the aluminum block due to the larger displacement. Yes it is a great handling car, for a 4 door car, 2 days after I drove the Evo I test drove a Z with the sports pack, my decision speaks for itself lol.

i checked out the STI before the Z... the new STI's are cool if you can only afford one car.

i don't plan to mod extensively on either choices. i'm more interested in which one is better suitable for daily driver. Evo gets horrible gas mileage for a 2.0 liter motor, at least the Z gets decent mileage for a sports car.

I've heard from people that the Evo's tiny gas tank gets em 300 miles max, i've gone well over 500 in mine on one tank.

I was on the fence for either a 9, not 10, or the Z. Guess which one I picked?

Umm WHAT? no take that back... The X feels like it handles better because it encourages you to get within 10% of its limit with you the driver THINKING it is completely under control... the Z will give you a linear response (traction wise) letting the driver know as you approach the limit... granted the Z is much scarier at 10% within its limit than the X but I would much rather get good transfer of information from the wheels to the steering rather than have a million computers making me feel like im in perfect control...

I used to have an X ... trust me... I drove it very very very hard ALL the time...
