Is the Z your first non-american car
The title says it all
Is the Z your first non-american car WILL be my first car but I currently drive a tundra so since it will be my own first car I have to put yes and proud of it if I get it O_o |

I'm a Nissan Girl...(Z's, 240SX, Maxima...hoping for a Murano someday instead of the H2)
|
American cars lack good warranties and have multiple quality control issues, lets not get onto the whole Toyota thing, but imported cars in general are far more reliable. Now if i was going to get a truck, just out of principle, it would be a ford or a chevy.
|
First for me personally, but prior to, I bought a Honda Civic for the wife to drive.
So...in a sense, no, but since the Z is only for me, the Z is my first non-american car. Prior to (both of us) 1997 Ford Ranger 1994 Saturn SL2 sedan 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme 1992 Ford Tempo 1980 Chevy Malibu 1978 Ford Thunderbird 1984 Ford Ranger Currently I have: 2005 Honda Civic LX Sedan 2006 Honda VTX 1300C motorcycle 2009 Nissan 370z 7AT Touring w/ Sport (everything except Nav) 2010 Nissan Frontier SE-V6 4x4 |

Toyota isn't American, and pre-recall, I'd not get a Toyota. They cost too much by comparison. Like they used their name brand to justify up-charging $1000-$5000 per model. Honda does that a little, Nissan seems to be the most reasonably priced for the big-3 from Japan. |
I've always been a big Ford fanboy and always drove American up to this point.
1. 97' Ford Mustang- which I just recently sold 2. 87' Camaro IROC-Z 3. 05' Ford F250 Harley edt. 4. 09' 370Z Touring/Sport Alot of my friends busted my chops when I got the Z because it wasn't an American V8 |
cuz it's faster, better looking, more reliable, has better resale, or what?
:stirthepot: :rofl2: |
No, but it's my first Japanese Car.
|
i have never owned an american car but if the c7 comes out good looking, i will definitely buy american next time.
|

I still like the looks of the SRT-4, don't know why. But it's not a real sports car..just a 20k car with turbo...but it's better than a base neon. Still so happy I got to own 2 Z's :) i'm still looking for a decently priced 300zx tho.

YES, my 1973 Datsun 240Z was indeed my first non-american car!
(I bought it new in 1973 and still have it. It replaced the '64 Olds F85 sedan my folks gave me when I got my first job. ) Since then have bought (in order): a used '63 Chevy Corvair convertible in 1975 a new '78 Toyota Celica a new '87 Dodge Caravan a used '89 Nissan Maxima in 1992 a used '86 Acura Integra 1n 1995 (for daughters in high school) a new '96 Dodge Caravan a used '98 Ford Mustang in 2000 (for daughter in college) a used '93 Nissan 300ZX in 2003 a new '05 Ford Mustang (for other daughter in college) a used '03 Subaru WRX in 2006 (for son in college. Kids are expensive!) a new '09 Nissan Murano All these cars are/were manual shift except the Caravans and the Murano. Currently in the garage are the 240Z (now a restoration project), the 300ZX, and the new Murano. All Nissans. Most useful overall vehicle of all these: the 1996 Dodge Caravan (just sold a few months ago with 240,000 miles on it.) Most fun car: the 300ZX. Based on my pattern of buying Z cars 20 model years apart, I expect to buy a 2013 375Z... (But will it be a Nissan? or will Nissan rebrand its North American line again? Hmmm.....) --jayhawk |
