as a daily drive in my view - its crap.
you got to be careful backing out due to the blind spots, the front is too tall and you could hit things, and you could grind the rims. best left to the weekend for a nice long cruise... |

I can see just fine out the back. I have no problems with the front and you could grind pretty much every rim on any car |

PEBSWAS (problem exists between steering wheel and seat) My Z is my DD and I love it. My only negative is I can't use it for family trips. If there was enough room to shove 3 or 4 suitcases and 2 dogs in the back, I would use this car for *everything*.

thanks for the replies. how's the real life gas mileage around town? according to fueleconomy.gov it's better than the EVO X and even slightly better than my wife's new TL 3.5

I used to have an 07 TL as my dd and my gsxr 600 as my weekend toy. I've since traded the TL in for the Z, and now have 2 somewhat impractical dd's. Being that the Z is the more practical of the two, it's the one I use for day to day use. It's definitely not as comfy/equipped as the TL was, but it sure is a lot more fun to drive. Only thing that worries me is the increased wear and tear that a dd usually accumulates.

I didn't spend the money for this car to drive a pickup or some sedan every day, what fun is that? these cars are meant to be driven and enjoyed, then one day, before the miles pile up too high, you can retire and restore and enjoy for as long as you want. But yeah, I am driving my Z every day.

I've made it up to 520 miles on a tank, getting 31 mpg on the way to Albuquerque and back, thats almost as good as some hybrids.

Highway cruising @ 80-90. Included some around-town driving too.

Man what have you driven before this, the mega window car from back in the day, what was that the Pacer? Its an easy car to drive,a djust the mirrors and seats right and all is good. You do have to turn your head when turning and changing lanes, I think some people forget that and think the mirror is the tell all. This isnt going to be a classic car so I dont see babying it like one, so drive it and enjoy it. When its done get another car.

the answer depends on how OCD you are about cars in general
by strict definition, a daily driver car is a car that you don't care much about, appearance wise (ie, dings, dents, scratches would not bother you) but it seems that the majority of forum members do care. so, sure you can drive the 370z every day but as a daily driver, there are better cars for that purpose. |
