Break-In Tip & Light Tip
Dear members,
If you want a little aid to make sure that you don't exceed the 4k RPM of the engine during break-in, set the dash computer to turn on the REV light at 3.5k RPM instead of 6.5k RPM which is default. This way you get a little REV reminder to slow down! :eekdance: To increase the life of your headlights, put them on auto when you actually want to turn your headlights on (given that it is actually dark enough). Turning headlights on/off often will reduce their life span. I hope you guys find these little tips useful. |
just wondering, where is the rev light located? (just got the car)

Actually I hate the auto feature on the headlights, it will kick on in situations where I do not it in the middle of the day, under a bridge or overpass. Since I have no navigation from factory I cannot adjust this, plus I have better judgment on when I do or do not need the headlights.
Rev light is in the RPM gauge, it will be red and I believe the circle is at the top of the RPM gauge. To adjust this use the left gauge and tab through the menus. http://z.about.com/d/cars/1/0/f/a/1/...70z_gauges.jpg |
i thought it was more like at the top of the rev guage... i could be wrong but i remeber it flashing numerous times while motoring. :D

i'd agree with dreamer in that the auto will turn lights on in underpasses and tunnels, etc. moments where i really don't need them. there's nothing circuit-wise that distinguishes auto-on from manual-on, just one gets info from a photosensor, and one is a mechanical switch on the control stalk. if the auto flashes on/off under bridges, etc. when i don't need them, i'd reckon they would shorten your head light life span.

odd I revved the engine over 7000 RPM today
