Break-In Tip & Light Tip
Dear members,
If you want a little aid to make sure that you don't exceed the 4k RPM of the engine during break-in, set the dash computer to turn on the REV light at 3.5k RPM instead of 6.5k RPM which is default. This way you get a little REV reminder to slow down! To increase the life of your headlights, put them on auto when you actually want to turn your headlights on (given that it is actually dark enough). Turning headlights on/off often will reduce their life span. I hope you guys find these little tips useful.

Actually I hate the auto feature on the headlights, it will kick on in situations where I do not it in the middle of the day, under a bridge or overpass. Since I have no navigation from factory I cannot adjust this, plus I have better judgment on when I do or do not need the headlights.
Rev light is in the RPM gauge, it will be red and I believe the circle is at the top of the RPM gauge. To adjust this use the left gauge and tab through the menus.

It might be, I am never looking directly at it I just see a red flash and jump into the next gear and that annoying red light goes away.

This thread is not about the validity of the break-in period. It is simply a way to assist those who wish to adhere to it.

Not sure I understand your point. The auto function still turns the lights on and off...it just does it automatically instead of you having to turn the switch. Whether the lights outomaticaly turn on/off or you do it manually how would that affect the life span?

i'd agree with dreamer in that the auto will turn lights on in underpasses and tunnels, etc. moments where i really don't need them. there's nothing circuit-wise that distinguishes auto-on from manual-on, just one gets info from a photosensor, and one is a mechanical switch on the control stalk. if the auto flashes on/off under bridges, etc. when i don't need them, i'd reckon they would shorten your head light life span.
