Hehe, didn't expect anyone to look that closely. Bookshelves out of pine taken from our daughter's room when we got her "grown up" furniture. Painted it white to go with the garage colors and it makes a good place to stack stuff. Hey ! If I didn't save money SOMEWHERE, I couldn't have afforded this car !

hmmm protect the stuff that protects stuff. so now we have to protect the stuff that protects the protected stuff. I love it. It could be an endless cycle. Youd end up with a foot high of foot protection.

OCD-non-car: I am a complete germophobe. Have a thing of hand sanitizer at my home desk and everything. I probably wash my hands a billion times a day.

Car-OCD: A bird crapped on my windshield today. I decided this merited a full wash. Just in case. My hands are still numb.

You know you are killing the good stuff on your hands too.

And just some FYI for all: you kill 99% of all germs with it but that 1% is immune to it and it reproduces more immune germs and soon the sanitizer cant kill any of the germs. Best thing to do is wash hands and that doesnt kill the germs but washes them off in the soap and super germs wont reproduce. Thats why people get sick in hospitals super germs from too much cleaning with germ killing stuff.

Wash and rinse buckets, about 40 microfiber towels, rubber gloves for winter, a big California Duster hanging, vaccuum attachment (duh!), and that red thing is another hand-carried vaccuum the store (Lowes) just gave me.
Nice facility, my friend!

Notwithstanding all this OCD nonsense that's been said and laughed about, there is a reward to it. My 15 year old special edition Miata still looks showroom new. I've driven her for 35,000 miles and enjoyed every one of those miles. But due to my aggressive care and maintenance style, I now have a collector's class little prize and, in retrospect, I'm comfortable with my approach. Bottom line: to each his own.

What I find that works is a nice soft thick
bath towel to match the color of ur floor
mats.. Take it out and wash it once a month
and it brand new again.. Blends in well with the
floor so it doesn't stand out..
Although I don't drive mine much, 4 months
600 miles and I live in the south!!
Also OCD my garage.. Nothing but my z
and cleaning cabinet in a 2 1/2 car garage.
Wife thinks I'm nuts.. I told her just wait
25 years when we go to a Z show with a
25 year old Z with 20,000 miles on it
thinking about buying a coupe just to drive
everyday

i think my most ridiculous OCD move was sometimes i would get more upset about insignificant things that happened to my car than losing money in the stock market, considering some of those paper losses amounted to 2 or 3 times the value of the car i owned at the time.

i am trying to condition my mind to not worry about small things that happen to my car

You are with most anti-bacterial soaps because of the mechanism by which they work. So far, ethyl alcohol based products don't do this.

OCD? No shoes are allowed in my car lol. I take off my shoes and put them in a bag when I get in. There's still the plastic wrap on my pedals and I've had my car since last May HAHA.
