The shop that did my wheels didn't like the pin stripe idea due to the type of tape involved in the pin stripe process. I was told they could not really make the tape make a circle with out it bunching up, and that there would be a ridge due to the tape.
I do not know the extent and quality of other shops processes so perhaps it can be done well? Good luck!
