What tires do you like?

Noticed that several reviews - C/D mag, others talk about road noise that may be related to the tires. The original tires probably won't last long with a treadwear =

I like Nitto tires. I use the 555 Extremes for all-season, the NT-01s for autocross, and the 555 DRs for drag racing. NT-05s are a good all around all-season tire too.

Default Tires Replaced

Yesterday I replaced my stock tires at 8,000 miles. They had lost their grip. The compound must have gone south because I could easily spin the rear wheels. While fun watching the traction control kick in and feeling the grip come back I did not trust the cornering grip so I did some research and read a lot of tire reviews from this site and others. These were my choice.

Hankook Ventus are great tires at a very good price.

Customer Tire Reviews - Discount Tire

Your tires lost their grip because they are Summer tires and you are driving them in Winter. You need to be on all seasons or winter tires in the Winter. FWIW the grip would have come back in the spring. The Ventus will have slightly more Winter grip as the compound is slightly more durable, but it is still a Summer tire, not ideally suited to Winter conditions.

When the car was new in the winter of 2009 the tires had good traction even into the single digit temps. That traction started to decrease in September 2010. Tread was still good on the old tires so the stickey compounds in the tires must have gone south. Maybe I should have kept them for doing a little drifting

What size are you running? How is the noise?

I need something that grips more!

I ran Invo 315's on the back with 265's on the front for a while and the Invo has by far become one of my favorite tires. They feel great. I can't really tell you if the noise is bad or not because my car is really loud and I can't hear anything other than the radio and the exhaust lol.

Yeah. I used to use KDWs... Good tires, but not worth the money, IMO. Although, if I had the money to blow away tires as fast as I do and then use those as replacements every time, that's what I'd do.

Eh idk. They are quite noisy but I feel they grip just fine. On top of that the treadwear is amazing and they work well in the rain. Only thing is that under 40-50 degress they wont warm up and you will start to loose traction.
