Nope, not unusual. Both look fine. I prefer the non-Nismo myself.

Likely not that good since you'd have to use the stillen side skirts to match the front or the nismo sideskirts to match the rear and miss matching body kits generally doesn't work because they don't carry the same lines. If the nismo sideskirts work with the stillen front end it might look like something.

I, personally, went with the base model+sport package. I think they both look good. I prefer my spoiler over the Nismo one.

I can definitely see where some people would prefer the base/sports Z though. It has a classy look to it, while still maintaining aggressive lines. To me, when I look at the base/sports, I see "sporty car". When I look at my Nismo, I see "sports car".
