Installed Illuminated Kick Plates

Just a heads up to those who try to install the illuminated kick plate on the 2010 models:

I think that the carpets/insulation/Styrofoam pieces are different in the 2009 models than the 2010 models. At least I thought that they were. Anyhow, I installed them with some difficulty but I am very happy with the results.

I now have two of the old kick plates, if you have damaged your existing ones, let me know. Mine are brand new.

I'm thrilled with the ones installed on my '09. Wouldn't even think of trying to do it myself. I'm writing to ask if you have a fob like the one pictured with your name, etc. If so, could you tell me where I can buy one. It's very sharp.

Random question but is there a significant difference in weight between the standard and illuminated kick plates?

Not really, I think the illuminated ones are about a 100 grams heavier.

There is a write up on changing colors, should include installation et al. Look in interior.

Thats good. If I wanted the dealer to do mine it would have cost about $420 dollars including the parts. Instead, I paid a total of $135 and got them on eBay.
