Help please o.o
I know I may sound stupid asking ,
but I'm new to this ;( Well, is there anyone that can give me pointers on what I should check for when I'm looking at a used car? What should I check before purchasing a used car, etc? THANK YOU in advance=) |
Calvin Calvin Calvin have you search on line and basically typed in what you just asked? I'm pretty sure theirs a lot of professional advice on the do's and don't of buying a used car.
now thats out the way, a carfax report, have it checked out by a trusted mechanic, if it's too good to be true it probably is... good luck |
edmonds.com is your friend.

It also depends on what car you're looking at. Some makes and models have specific issues you should be aware of before you start looking at them.
|
well, i checked the carfax on it, the car had 2 previous owners one had it for like 10 days and the 2nd had it for a well 7 months or so. i just want to know what is there i should look for so there wouldn't be any hidden problems with the car that's not visual? that you won't really find out when you test drive should i open up the hood and look for something in specific ?

What car are you looking at?

Ugh. You're trading in your 2009 for another 2009? You might as well keep the 7AT. Depending on the numbers, you might end upside down on your loan.

http://www.the370z.com/370z-sale/908...-your-7at.html I'm looking maybe to trade with another, and we can do title swap with our banks and that way, neither one of use would be upside down or roll in any negative equity.... |

To me, the best way to buy a used car is buying from a private owner (never from a dealer) with 3 critical conditions:
1. One/original owner. 2. The car has never been in an accident . 3. Selling the car because not needed anymore or need money - not because something is wrong with it. Make sure the owner write these statements and signs it to ensure that he/she is not lying and you take him/her to court later if it is not. You can pretty much tell how sincery the seller is when you talk to the owner. This way you save money (nod dealer mark up) and most likely you are buying a good used car. Craigslist is a good place to start with. |

Use the paddles shifters. Not the same as having a clutch tho of course. And is the manual really worth trading in your NEW car for a USED SAME CAR?!!! Seems like a loss to me. Plus 2 owners already?!!! Just go buy a NEW ONE AGAIN :p

@ltp, oldguy, sophia
thanks guys, i decided i won't do the trade anymore. sophia makes a lot of sense, new car for an old car is stupid fusznissan was tellin me i could get a brand for 28k-30k, i called a dealer today they said i'd have to add in 6k so my final decision is to keep the car til i graduate in 2 yrs sell it and then buy another car, hopefully a m3 or something haha |
