The 370z Power!

Alright, here goes another question from me:

How much power does the engine have below 4000rpm? I am breaking the car and not pushing it above 4k.

I remember years ago I got into my friends Mustang (by the way, I don't like Mustangs at all) but I remember it glued me to the seats! Granted he must have been pushing beyond 4k and had a V8... I wish I remembered what the horse power was, but it certainly must have had more torque. I guess I am hoping that there is nothing really wrong with the engine and I am getting all the 330HP I am suppose to be.

But I absolutely love this car! Terrific! :driving:

Idk, go put it on a dyno and run it to 4k then stop. Report back with your findings.

Chriz 02-22-2010 04:54 PM

Well I looked at some stock dyno sheets and its around 170hp at 4000 rpm. Hope that helps

Wait... so your in the break-in period of the car and you are purposely driving it slow and your question is... why does this car seem slow?

I am beginning to see a pattern, so I won't even bother overnighting one from frost.

Guys guys!

Please don't attack me!

I didn't mean to imply that the car was weak! Of course not.

I absolutely love it, love the car!

All I wanted to know was how much power is there at about 4k and someone already answered me.

As with any new buyer, having spent so much money, I am picky and little paranoid. You have all been supportive and I appreciate that.

Vegitto-kun 02-22-2010 06:17 PM

doesn't the 370Z only get maximum HP at around 7000 RPM?

I am lucky that my car was just settled in when I bought it. instant rev limit driving

serturbo 02-22-2010 06:33 PM

The power is there. You're just not coming into it yet. I was a little disappointed at first too, but only because I was driving a much quicker 240 and more torquey V8 Pathfinder.

Thanks, that is what it seems to be.

the rpm is direct representation of hp...so at 4000rpm you got 4000horse power.

Fantastic! Once I break in the car, I will find an uphill, get it up to 7000RPM and with 7000 horse power I will be in orbit. I will see you guys at the international space station.

Stop flaming him. His question was legitimate. He just wanted to know (from someone who had dyno'd their car) the HP number (y axis) at the 4,000 RPM mark (x axis) of a dyno graph. Simple question. No need to get your panties in a bunch.
