Nice Ramps for oil changes and etc.

I found this site and it has what appears to be some great ramps and other things that some of you do it yourself-ers may like. The extenders might be a good idea, gives you a gradual incline, and once the car's in position, you can remove them to gain side entrance to the underside of the car, and they say they're especially for the low to the ground cars like our Z's are.

Here's the web address:

Seems expensive especially when you can get the blitz ramps for around 40-50.

kannibul 02-20-2010 08:19 PM

56" should work fine, and they are cheaper.

Someone on here posted a video to the effect. I have a set, but haven't used them yet.

Here's a pic of a G with them.

nice. i use raceramps brand (flatstoppers) and they are of high quality. if my homemade extensions ever broke for my rhino's, i would get those extended ramps from raceramps.

make sure you measure the distance between the take off point and the stop. it's quite a bit of distance so unless it's parallel your car will fall off as you go on the ramps.

I did that once on a previous car, now I've been scared to use ramps ever since. :icon17:

These are really pricey compared to the Rhino's. Are these that much better?

Or better yet, what makes any ramps better than others? What do we need out of ramps? Long enough to not scrape, heavy duty enough to handle the load (which should be any ramps) ... and what else? I'd buy wider ones to help assure the car doesn't fall off, and that's all I can think of.

Maybe these mix cocktails for you. Probably a bad mix with 3500 lbs of car above your head.

x1 Failing a ramp run scares the crap out of me, on my wishlist is a setup like a scissor lift.

This is what I'll have. My wife keeps wondering why I always say "the garage roof isn't high enough" when we drive around shopping for dream homes.

I bought the Rhino 12,000 ramps. They're wider than the 8,000's if you're truly worried about running off the side. 8000's are for 7.5" tires and 12,000 are for 9.5". Take 30 seconds to line them up and there is no issue.

As for clearance with my sport package, I drop a 2x4 in front of the ramps and take off the little wind deflectors in front of the tires. Three screws each, only takes a minute.

I watched my buddy use the blitz/rhino ramps to change his oil. Let me see if I can describe this so it makes sense:
He hit the stop bump at the end of the ramps, and the little rubber square (glued to the bottom) popped off, causing the ramp to lurch forward dropping his car (vette) to the ground.

I have the rhino ramps, we just avoid hitting the front bump. :p

it'd be funny if the lip cleared by 3/8" in the vid but as soon as the driver got in his car the lip smashed due to the gross weight. :D

;) nice vid. i'd definitely consider getting one in the future if my homemade extensions dont work out.

PlazmaStrike 02-21-2010 10:57 PM

would these work on the nismo? im looking for ramps for my nismo, and the nismo has a reallly long low nose which is hard to find a ramp for that wont scratch the bumper.

I would consider these to be safe: 67” Race Ramps XT

Here is how to do the calculations for the Race Ramps needed: Ramp Test
