I think that's the way it should be...... asshole comes on your property to steal or do harm, shoot them. Unfortunately other more "liberal" states will actually make life miserable for the property owner in that situation.

I've experienced auto theft and vandalism in the past, and as angry as I've been about it, I've never been angry enough to actually take someone's life over it.

As far as the 'liberal' states you reference, they only make it miserable for you if you kill someone for attempting to steal your stuff.

Punishment does not fit the crime, imo. But that's the South for you.

Yea, we are WAY too lax with our laws. If a guy is on your property stealing stuff, he is probably not the nicest of folk. If I were in a situation of having to confront that person in the act, I think I would rather bust a cap in him rather than chance getting myslef shot/cut/stabbed for attempting to give him a "stern talking to", lol.
