The block is aluminum, yes, but the parts that are wearing and creating the little metal shavings are not.

Yeah but if y'all used Amsoil you wouldn't even have any metal shavings to worry about. Anyone who uses any other brand of oil is CRAZY!!!
(I'm kidding -- I hope that's obvious. And no, I don't have anything against Amsoil either.)
