Dilemma...
so i've had my car about 3 months, its a 2009 chicane yellow that i got brand new at the end of november. i've got someone where i work at that absolutely loves my car, especially the color which is the whole reason i got the one i got. she wants to buy my car, for what i owe on it and asked if i can't just get another(which i can't in yellow) and i've found a nismo for 2k more than what i paid for my car. should i do it? :happydance:

No way to judge without pics of the girl. :)

depends on how much you owe on it... If you only have to pay 2K out of pocket to get a nismo, I say go for it (if you like the nismo that is).

i will only be spending 2k more out of pocket. i think i'm gonna run up to the dealer to go check the nismo out tomorrow.
|
depends what you wanna do, the nismo is stiffer, ride quality will suffer, and if you plan to mod the car, kinda pointless, but if you want the nismo for the sake of having a nismo, go for it.

I'd keep my CY 6MT. If you have the touring and sport options, it's even more of a no brainer. The Nismo isn't very special IMHO...and there are lots of opinionated threads that further support that statement.
|
i'd say the main reason is, for a car purpose built for the track, the gains dont warrant the additional costs, the performance is practically even with the standard model.
|
wow. you guys really like the 370z.
if it were me, and i decided to sell the car, i would get something else :) |

what? ok if you can swoop a nismo for 2k more ... save the next 2 mods you do and go for it!! besides you can always do the same mods to your nismo and have the looks :)
|
why doesnt she just go get one of her own? This makes no sense to me.

get a touring with sport and all the upgrades..

If she was willing to pay you what you paid for it (not what you owe on it), then I might consider it.

charge her a premium since that was a one year only color......

Seems to depend on what the numbers are.
If you bought your Z at 40K, you paid it down to 36K and now you can get a Nismo for 2K more at 38K. I would say hell no. This means you pay 4K + 2K + 36K = 42K for a Nismo. |
Tell her to give you a grand over it and pay the other grand for the nismo. Done. That is if you dont care about Leather/Bose/Navi...Otherwise get a nice Touring model w/ sport for a little less than the Nismo, then mod it to be faster than the nismo and more confortable :0
|
yeah i told her to pay what i paid for my car + what ever interest i've accrued over 2 months of owning my car. i don't mind shelling out the extra 2k to pick up the nismo. so far she's ok with it, since she can't find another yellow z. i'll definitely keep you all posted as well as posting pics if i get the nismo.
